PC3 and Gabro chip or not

Yeah I have had issues with chips before when griff has played with the bike
Try a Gabro chip never any complaints

I have not had any "issues" since Griff balanced the tbs & co -- He did a fantastic job.
It's just that he mentioned that a "better" chip could be fitted. So I was just looking into the best option.

Cheers :cheers

Hi all,

This is the path that I am taking regarding the PC3 / chip :megaphone

As I already had the PC3 I have gone ahead and installed it, I have only loaded the Zero map, so all fueling is still controlled by the ECU.
I am currently waiting for a response from Ed at Forzaaprilia for a chip for the bike with my current mods.
Once the chip is fitted I am getting the bike dyno'd and will then have the fueling tweaked to maximise the potential of the chip with my mods.
Some of you will probably think that I am wasting my time fitting both, but I am comfortable with doing it this way. I'm sure that some of you will have an opinion, and I look forward to reading them.

Cheers :cheers

I have two gen 1 one wirh gabro chip airbox mods and akropovic can the other a tuono racing with pc3 and aprillia ti canbut standard chip.I believe gabro chip alters the trim pots at certain rpm and ignition timming.
The pc3 only adjusts fueling and not ignition timming my bike came wirh the pc3 so dont know about set up costs but i did install gabro chip myself which is a cheaper option comparing both bikes rhe rsv is way smoother i would do chip mod over pc3 .hope that helps.

Gray,

Hows it going? Just wanted to find out what you actually ended up doing with regards to the chip and PC3. I've a gen 1 Tuono with PC3 and custom map but I've just fitted an open airbox, a modded collector and new can (Yoshi RS3). I've also got 2 chips coming - 1 from Forza and 1 from Gabro. I'm going to try both and see what one works best for me. I've spoke with Griff and he advises on getting the TB's set up before going on the dyno again to get a custom map.

Interested to find out what you did and what your experience was with the chips and PC3

Cheers

Sounds good! Look forward to your feedback on how the two chips compare.

I had a Forza fitted by Griff's lads last year, with the throttle bodies balanced. The latter made the bike much smoother. The former sharpened up the throttle response significantly. Overall, I was well pleased.

I have a spare Gianelli Chip (which is apparently the same as an Arrow chip) if anyone wants one for half the price of a Forza or Gabro. It's designed for the open airbox plus aftermarket exhaust (with or without baffle) and eliminates the 5k flat-spot. It's supposed to give approx 5bhp increase over stock, but I haven't had it dyno'ed.

If interested, just PM me.
