throttle bodies need balancing and co setting.

What gearing are you running, you really want to be on 15/42 or 16/42 and adjust all the slack out of your throttle but make sure that the engine revs don't rise when you go from lock to lock. :thumbup

When was the last time you had the CO and throttle bodies set up/checked?

Might be worth getting a DrRossi Eprom chip in your ECU too, their reported to be great for smoothing out the throttle response :thumbup I cant comment personally yet cos mine is in the post...

hey thanks all 4 ettin back to me so damned fast, incredible! not sure what sprockets or throttle body balancing as haven't had it long but i'm goin in the dealership in the morn. gonna ask if they can have a look at it and i'll mention balancing etc. wander if they would do this under warranty?mmmm, long shot but worth a try me thinks. its not a huge problem but would be nicer if it was smoother and of course, I would avoid lookin a complete ***** at times! griff come down these here parts often (south west)?

Griff does get around mate, if you can muster up enough interest I'm sure he'd make a trip down yonder!

TB and CO's under warranty, you've more chance of getting all the numbers in the lotto mate. :roll

thanks man. I'm still gonna push them and see if they'll do it FOC, may just exaggerate the situation slightly, tell them i've nearly died twice! GT motorcycles, plymouth. can't see them doin me any favours tho. cheers lad.

You can always pop down to me,Im near Bodmin & Griff has shown me a few tricks,He's down in a few weeks ,but thats more of a holiday, jammy git is down at Estoril at the moment & text me today saying he got tickets for 5 people for the 3 day motogp for 100 euro's!!!! It's cheaper to fly there than do the bloody britisg gp,Knightster give a shout & hook up mate & any excuse for a play!

thanks alot Vince. i'll take u up on that offer. can't believe I've only been on here 4 a few hours and the responses I've had has been flippin fantastic. cheers. Griff seems very well respected on here. obviously knows his onions.

Sorry to sound stupid but how do you go about balancing the throttle bodeies and what is the 'co setting' :dunno - I`m relatively new to all this and still learning the lingo - I`ll get there in the end !

Balanceing the Tbs means that at small throttle openings they are feeding the same amount of fuel & air into the engine,if they are out 1 cylinder is getting a different amount of fuel/air & it'll run lumpy,if you have a chip that allows the trim pots to activate in the ecu you can set it up more accurately than just using the air bleed screws. You need a CO meter & relevant pipework to fit to your exhaust headers to do this

Ah, thanks for the info Vince. I assume its something I should let a garage / dealer sort out ? I live in Mold, North Wales - anyone ever used A&D in Denbigh to get any work done ?

Welcome mate, I live in Abergele. :thumbup

As to A & D, where to start. Hmm....................... Lets just say.. a BIG RESOUNDING NO !!!!

I reckon John Wayne would have been right at home there, the only thing going for them is Sams Cafe, best bacon butties around.

Don't do it ,not unless you are absolutely desperate,I'm going to take mine down to Griff's as soon as I can arrange it to get it sorted by the Master.

I used to work in Flint so I would also say don't go to A1 either :devious

Perhaps get together for a ride sometime? Make a change from the Triumph,Honda, and Ducati lads I usually troll around with.

So you`re not too keen on A&D then (lol). Ride out sometime sounds like a plan.

Are there any decent garages round our way ? Where is Griff based ?

Strangely enough I've bought 2 new bikes from there and I like Alan as a person, it's just that from experience of the 'techs' he has working there I decided never to take anything there for service again.

Woods here in Abergele are a good bunch of people who can service anything, BUT as Aprilias are a bit different to Ducs etc I would rather take a trip to Griffs place to get THE MAN do any work rather than ride 5 ins down the road.

Griff was the Aprilia Technical manager for years and he's probably forgotten more about them than most dealers ever learn,he's in Tamworth by the way.

Where do you normally ride? Ponderosa Bala Betwse etc? I notice the Wirral 100 meet is on at Anglesey this w/end,thats normally a good day out.
