Hi all and merry xmas to you if you are into it.
I have been looking at Oz wheels for my Gen 1 Tuono as I have been reading that they do make a big difference as compared to the standard. My question is will the OZ wheels from a 2007 rsv1000r factory fit a gen 1 2005 Tuono ? I have spotted a few bits and bobs about spacers but I am still a bit uncertain. I also need to know if the brake discs are a straight swop as well.
Given the knowledge base of this forum should anyone think of any other complications I have missed I will need to know about it as well.
Cheers in anticipation.

If your bike has radial front brakes then they will go straight in.
The later radial brake wheels are a little wider, and can be made to fit by turning the brake disc mating surface of the wheel down . But it's a lot of aggro for little gain.
If you have the earlier wheels, it's pretty easy, you just put a spacer in there to take the discs out wider.
Brake discs are a straight swap.

Also, later the rear wheel is a few mm wider than the earlier one, but will go in without too much dificulty.

Ah......mine is a non radial brake Gen 1 but I don't know wether the wheels I am looking at are earlier or later Oz wheels except that they are on a Gen 2 rsv with radial callipers .
Cheers Tifa, I am still lost but can at least try and find out about the wheels I am looking at. Do not want to spend a lot of dough on something that I cannot fit.

It depends what your trying to achieve, the cost of some bling, plus the aggro involved doesn't justify the cost.

Well I have tried to sell the T twice as I fancied a change but had no interest at all and that was before I knocked every corner off in a high side at brands hatch. Kind of decided that if I am stuck with it I would get some nicer bits for it and the ohlins rear shock made a heap of difference. I love the bike and wanted to sell it to get a factory or maybe a KTM superduke and even now I am thinking that spending this kind of money might not be the best option and maybe I should bite the bullet and sell or trade it in.
Decisions,decisions eh.
Cheers Ash.

I bought some Oz wheels for mine.
Now....you'll hear a lot saying how good they are when compared to the original cast items.

Here's my thoughts......when you put new wheels on, you'll nearly always fit new tyres too.....and you know that nice feeling you always get with new rubber?
Well...it's pretty hard to determine the difference....to be fair....I think most would struggle to find a difference on the road, however, on the track, you just might discern a difference..and this could be demonstrated by a quicker lap time maybe?
On the road though? I'm not really convinced.

At the end of the day, it's nearly always voodoo ( in yer head) innit?

As said above, gen 2 OZ wheels will need spacers behind the discs, these are readily available for £25. I have got an immaculate pair of OZ's from an 06 Factory for sale if you want some.

That would be my thoughts Tifa.
Good luck with your bike whichever way you go.
