Thought Id take the banana in this morning, but cold but nice and dry. She started to over heat, I had to take her home again and pick up the car! :(

Going to check levels this weekend, but anyone got and good ideas?

Thermostat sticking maybe? Rads not Kicking in, if not could be sensor or fuse? Too fat and heavy for the banana?? maybe you need a good old reliable GS dude! Go on your tempted.

WHere it the thermostat? Check the sensor and fuses is a good call, thanks.

LOL GSER COCKS.............. the thermostat is somewhere in the cooling system LOL not actually looked but suppose i could look at my manual if you want me too. I got nowt else to do today, i'm bored!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did really get time to look this weekend. As the winters on the way Im in no rush. ;)

Ta nikfubar - I check that out.

Hey I'm having a very similar problem, how did it go? Was the stat easy to get off, did u have to drop the coolant first? Did u re seal it when u put it back, gasket, instant gasget?

AH, Ive still not looked at it. Been very lazy, I even had 2 days off last week and i still couldn't be arsed!

ANyone want to buy an '02 RSVR, £2000 and it yours. :)

Right u gotta take the panel off the side and the bottom panel then take the expansion bottle off but u can leave that full and it just hangs down clear of where you need to work then u can see the input and output hose to the thermostat it's a plastic cylinder shape with solid jubilee clips so if ur going to do this your going to need new clips to put it back on as u strip it off u drop quite alot of coolant so try and catch it to reuse it and thst way you can see the quality of the liquid. But I stripped my stat out and it's kinda a sealed unit I tryed it in boiling water and a few other tricks but it's very hard to tell If it's working or not!!? I refited, refiled, bled the best I can and it still overheats! ... Going to keep trying :(

thanks for the info dude. And keep us up to date with how you're doing. I will get round to looking at my bike at some point. ;)
