Got the bike a few weeks ago, done around 1000 miles and 3 track days. Just rode home from 2 trackdays in Pembrey, 200m left to go, exit off a roundabout and *dumph*, bike drops 10 inches lower. Pretty lucky to be fair.
Anyone reckon this can be fixed? Does anyone know what part has actually snapped (if you can tell from the pictures). If its the frame can that just be swapped out? Its an 02/03 mille.
Thanks
Crying

I believe its the frame :/ Think its the bottom bits off this:

Yep new frame time...due to the previous owner not maintaining the bearings ...which some people do yearly just to safe.

I have a frame like that in the garage so it's obviously happened before normally the dogbone breaks not the frame

Yep figured as much. So now I'm after a second hand frame. New ones cost more than the bike did ha.
Thanks

Emailed the DVLA about switching frames and got this reply back:

It may help if I explain that in order to retain the original registration mark of the motorcycle, you must use an unmodified frame (original or new).

In the instance a second hand frame is used, the vehicle must pass a Motorcycle Single Vehicle Approval (MSVA) test after which a "Q" plate will be allocated. A “Q” number is allocated to a vehicle where the age of the vehicle is not known, or when the vehicle is re-built, or radically altered.

Should you wish to go ahead with the application to change the frame, we can provide you with further information. Before we can provide additional information, can you please confirm if the vehicle frame is damaged as it is a classic vehicle or if the frame was damaged as a result of other means?

Note the bike is now apparently a classic haha

So does that mean that I cant keep the new frame reg number either? I think I read something about modifying/telling them about changes to the bike bit by bit and not all in one go, which means it wont be classed as having been heavily modified or rebuilt? Does any one have any experience with this as I don't really want to go down a Q plate route.
Thanks

Basically itsnstop vehiclhles ending up as ringers...

I know someone with a black powder coated frame hpi clear with a reg number ending RSV if that's any good reg number alone was valued at a few hundred

Let me know I will put you in touch with him.....or its good old eBay to track one down from a broken bike

Any idea how much hes looking to get for it? Do private registrations keep it off Q plates then?
I think I can possibly get away with getting a frame and telling the DVLA that the only change to the new bike is the engine number.
Thanks

Basically reframe it then the bike is on that registration number amend the logbook with your engine number and you are sorted

I will pm you his details

The next option is a aluminum welder but only he will know if it could hold the weight once it's weld.

Of course not but I did it once on a Yamaha R6 with no problems.

...I have mates that are coded welders and have welded frames up etc even one of them completed the Manx on such a frame but owing to the small area required and its out of sight I'd never be happy

When someone first mentioned welding it my first thought was no as well, sent him a message (after messaging the wrong person somehow and wondering what went wrong ha) so fingers crossed.
Thanks for the details
