On the look out

So talked to the mech about the bike yesterday. I'm preparing for the worst right now. A brief reminder if you didn't see my original post. Did a track day at Snetterton, coming down the straight i down shifted, something popped. In turn something started rattling around on the inside between my legs :dowhat. had little power at my command when trying to get off track. Engine oil light is on after starting the bike, bike starts and runs but give it gas and it shuts off.

Right so on to it then. I'm going to post this up in the "Looking to Buy" thread also, but wanted to throw this out there incase some one knows some one, who knows some one. I am looking to possibly buy a 2006-2008 Engine to replace the one in the bike now. So if any one knows or has a bike that has been thrashed for one reason or another and is willing to sell their engine i would be greatly appreciative. Or if anyone knows where i might be able to get my hands on one that would be a great help too. Just preparing for the worst case scenario.

I'm pretty much gutted. I love this bike to death. Going back to the states and want to rock it hard core when i get there. Beowulf exhaust on it, and i've been told it sounds mean as hell. Had GSXR 600 before this that was stolen when i got to England. Other then that it's pretty stock minus the CRG Clutch and Brake levers (Still waiting on the brake lever i ordered 3 weeks ago.......) and the Gear indicator that i just got in the mail..... So happy with this bike, had a few bumps on the way but this is a road block i can't seem to get passed. Just looking at worst case scenario it's a new motor. Maybe some body will take pitty on me and it won't be that bad, not holding my breath on that though :-\.

gutted for you dude, I really hope you get to the bottom of it.

sometimes its cheaper just to get another engine matey..before they charge you loads to open it up and say............its fackked mate

Yeah know what ya mean CK. Got my eyes on a '06 model engine that he took some of the top end for his track bike. We'll see, just keeping options open for worst case scenario atm. We'll see how it goes. Mech already said if i wanted him to rebuild the engine i have in it it would cost up near 2k pounds. Don't like the sound of that price but on the other hand. If i put in some one elses motor it would be the shell of my bike with the heart of some one elses bike. Kinda like getting it on with your wife but someone else is controlling her. Lol

at least you could sell the old engine for 200 or so... to ease the pain matey

You usually get the odd factory engine on fleabay m8,but like ck says 700 smackers would sort you out but wot ever you do don't even look at one on the aprilia parts site you'll **** your pants m8 lol

Its a joke m8 just had to buy a new dash for ma 2005 and aprilia parts wanted £400+vat but my local aprilia dealer sold me one for £200 mental and that dealer are probably still makin money,ive got a slight bukle on ma front wheel and again shat myself on the genuine price.....

new front wheel oz replica you can get for 145+ vat at the moment..that would get you out of trouble

An 06 would that not be for the radial brakes would that fit ma 2005 non radial calipers?????
