Old vs New. Help me choose

The questions you ask are relevant but the differences between the 2 models will be negligable really. It all comes down to size and design.

The later ones make slightly more power but the power has been moved higher up the rev range but still very much Italian even if they are being compared with Japanese bikes. Will you notice the difference on the road? I seriously doubt it.

The thing that sold me was the design. I liked the early mille's but they never really grabbed me. But when I saw the first picture of the 04 model in Superbikes magazine I knew I had to have one. For me they were simply gorgeous. I'm on my second Mille now and absolutely love it. I still adore the early model but for me the later shape is just stunning.

New one.... because I have one.. simples :thumbup

Never had the new one but do like the look of them but not as much as the 01 version. Im a big lad and the the way my bike feels to me is the best I've ridden.

its going to me down you buddy and if you get a cracking example 03 model you will love it (when it starts) :lol :)

When it starts!?! Please don't say things like that, I might take you seriously :scared

The 'Blades are starting to look atractive again.

Might go up tomoz if its dry and see if I can't do a deal. Was thinking of keeping the ZZR but I'm gonna see if they'll give me somehting for it. Its in pretty poor nick tho. 4th gear giving in has been the final straw :down

Stick it on ebay, it will probably make more than a bike that works properly!

My brother had a late registered 04 Mille. With a modified airbox, PC111 and Akra it was still slower than my standard 05 RSVR, the seat was bloody high (I'm 6' and couldn't put feet flat) and it doesn't turn as well as the newer model. My brother moved to an 07 RSVR within months.

On the plus side for the older bike, the paint is better by miles and,if you want a bit of noise a single race can is much cheaper than two and the bars are noticeably higher.

Both bikes are pretty old skool compared to the new Jap kit/RC8/1198, but both are plenty fast enough to make sure nobody passes you on the road and both are a pleasure to ride on road and track.

If you go for the newer bike avoid the 'base' 04 model as you don't get radial brakes unless it's a Factory model.
