my 04 rsv apart from resetting the odometer when the battery went flat and the rear brake never working has had no problems at all..i change its oil and filter and clean it but thats it...i was going to change the coolant but its ok so i'm not keen to bugger about with it.... all the problems you lot are having make me wonder if i have it all to come.

I have had my -02 RSVR now for two years. She has given me trouble free kilometers when you take in to account that she is net new ;)

I had done normal services and some tuning.

The only real challenge is the water pump seal that is due to be changes due "sweating" compared to the Japanese predecessors Mille has done ok.

water pump and oil seal looked easy enough when griff did mine. he was sweating getting some of the bits apart though!

i know what you mean - i was waiting for all the problems when mine turned up. So far, touch wood, everything seems fine. Just ride it and enjoy it while all is going well I say!!

Don't worry mate, every bike has it's common faults. It's parts of an Italians bike 'character' apparently. Trust me, jap bikes also have faults and problems but you don't hear about them because owners of those machines aren't as passionate as us lot. That's why we buy Italian, for the flair and passion of ownership.

I have had one year of trouble free motoring, but the past month has cost me. I wont say how much...........but in order to pay off the credit card, you can find me at Kings Cross station most eve's for a very reasonable price.:eek:
