Alright guys, heading to the motor factors today and wondered if anyone can tell me off the top of their heads what replacement parts i need for oil changes on both the bikes (ie washers etc...) got a couple of K&N filters to go on!!

Cheers guys................:thumbup

Preaty much you need just the oil and filter, everything else can be reused.

If you do want, you can also replace the oil cover o-ring seal, alu washer from the bottom oil drain screw and a cooper washer from the top drain screw (you can heat this with some kind of fire and let it cool down and it will be like new :))

And dont forget to rub some oil on the o-ring when puting it all together.

If anyone is interested the correct way to anneal copper washers is :

Heat until cherry red ( suspend washer on piece of wire and hang in flame on a gas cooker is good, make sure wife doesn't notice) then straight from the flame and immerse in cold water. :thumbup

Nice one Ian mate, what exactly does that do to it??????????

same as tempering steel, but to be honest - the cost of a new copper washer is pennies, sure its gonna cost the same in gas :)

deacs :thumbup

worth just picking one up then bud?? you don't know off hand what size they are do you????

yep just replace it matey - like I say pennies. not sure on the size off hand matey.

As well as making it 'hot then cold' :biggrin it softens it and gives it back the deformation characteristic's it had before being compressed.

Obviously if you have a new one there is no need, but should you not have a new one this could get you out of the ****.
