Hi guys
More help needed I have just spoken to a dealer and he said that the oil pump should be primed before starting.
Is it neccessary if so how do you do it.:dunno

When i change my oil and filter i always fill the oil filter up with oil and let it soak through before fitting it so it dont starve the oil pump of oil for a few seconds

Is this what you're on about mate :thumbup

That was it cheers I did that filled the filter from the inside and fitted it started it and oil light went out in about 5 secs job done.
Also changed the gearbox jet to a 40 while I was there.
Will find out the difference when it gets above freezing

Yeah.....bit bloody crappy out there at the mo

Roll on the better weather........where's the global warming FFS.... lol

this weekend might be a good ride out time...........not summer but 10 degrees anyway.

There is a thread on it but it reduces gearbox oil pressure to make selecting of neutral easier.
It isnt a long job or expensive mine cosy just over £6(got it from my local Aprilia dealer on the shelf) and a bit of fidding to get the jet out I used lock wire to get the old one out but you must use the right size screwdriver to avoid rounding off try the size in the new jet before removing the old one.

Mick what year yours is?

I am still wondering weather this mod is useful for 2001 - 2002 models???

Mine is a 2002 and it did have the 60 jet in it and hoping to try it all out at the weekend if the man in the sky gives us a dry warmer day or 2.

Mick let us know weather it is an improvement.
We have currently some - 10 centigrade and the roads are.....

She is still in garage - i need to check the tappet clearance otherwise all is done for the summer.
- Oil change + filter
- Fork oil change
- Coolant change
- Brake and clutch fluids
- Chain and sprocets
- K & N air filter is serviced
- Diablo black has been "re-furnished" Autoglym bumper seems to be the right stuff for mat black finish and for the carbon parts.

What else??

Yest she is not on constant recharge, but she started just fine last weekend.
I`ll charge her occasionally.

Cheers
