£2700 for a set of Aprilia standard fit Ohlins:dunno, I would of gone for a proper set of Ohlins road and track forks for £1500 plus the fitting:thumbup.

It was done through universial tyres insurance company norwich union or aviva as they're known now so I had to replace them with what was on there.
Are they they standard fit Ohlins ? They came from Ohlins direct cos they had to be ordered as the ones fitted weren't an off the shelf item from Ohlins (thats what I was told)?
Anyway I didn't pay any thing for them so I'm not to bothered standard or not........................:grinning
the showa valves come with big ports anyway, so it's just a matter of getting the shim stack sorted to suit the way you ride.
i don't ride on the race track, so i've set mine up pretty soft on the compression with a 2-stage stack to make it track better on the crap roads we have. the rebound is quite a lot stiffer than stock to help control the spring. then i set the oil height to around 130mm to get a longer stroke without it bottoming out.
i probably ride like a ***** compared to some, but the reality of things is on todays roads and at realistic speeds this works real nice for me. if i did track days i dare say my shim stack would be quite a bit different.
but i can say, hand on heart, that getting your showa forks set-up properly will be a cheaper option than going the gold route.

I didn't think it was a dig Tash....I was offering an explaination and also got me wondering what forks they fitted for around £2550 ?????
I paid £7000 for the bike in dec 2007 with 400 miles on the clock so in effect its a third of the price of the bike ????

just had my fork legs stripped and anodised in gold look great and **** loads cheaper than a set of ohlins

not sure on price as griff sorted them for me will try and get them back together this week and post some pics
I went for the better and cheaper option and ordered myself some WP Springs + oil, so going to strip the forks off in a few days and get them serviced with the new springs fitted, caaant waaait!
They cost £104 for the proline springs including fork oil, thought that was pretty cheap
