Normal noise?

On my way into work this morning was gining her some stick. doing about 110/120 ish (on a private road of course officer). with my head on the tank and throttle hard open the bike sounded like god gargling spitfires. my bike is a '53' RSVR Factory fully stock to my knowledge. I havent had it long so it may just be a normal noise that i havent clocked before. Any advice?

Cheers si

I think you may have to be more specific, I haven't been to church recently, but the last time I was there I don't remeber any gargling spitfires!

lol ok fair one

Its hard to describe. it was a really low lazy rumble. the normal engine noise was still there and the exhaust was normal (what you can hear from standard pipes) is sounded like there was an old v8 on tickover in my airbox

hope this helps

Could be that as your head was lower than usual you were hearing the induction roar from the airbox. Not normally heard with head a bit more upright.
If you listen to an 'open' box, (renegade etc) you can hear one hell of a roar no matter where your head is.

Liar, I saw you in church last Sunday with your flowery hat on. Oh and the Vicar says he'll meet you in the belfrey for some 'pulling practice':pirate

Si, they're noisy old buggers - as long as it's not going 'clank' or 'graunch' I wouldn't worry.

cool cool cheers guys. atleast now i know that its not dying i can admit that it sounded quite cool.

Thanks
