Can anyone help with this problem- the ignition is on, lights work but fuel pump doesn't prime, and doesn't attempt to turn over, no sound at all. All fuses and relays checked, thinking maybe its the ECU but not sure how to check.:crazy. Not sure how good the battery is but definately not dead cos the lights work.:banghead .Have made fuel pump run by bypassing straight to battery, so that works! Not sure what else to check.

Fit like E min.. welcome..

Tuonos, or maist V twins fur that matter, need a fair old kick tae turn ower so jist cos yer battery can shine the lights etc disnea mean its fit tae turn her ower. its a heavy lump mind wi lots o compression.

Thirs been a lot simliar loons oan here wi same problem so tak the time tae trawl thru a the threads an am sure ye will find sum help.

What model T? Tuoldo or 2nd Gen?
Could be a faulty relay,....or summat in the 'safety cut out' circuit.(neutral light, sidestand switch, lean angle cut out)

Put key in and turn on, dash lights come on an the rev counter needle wipes it`s face and the fuel pump primes.
Have you an alarm on it ? . If so this will cause problems for the battery.....loose it. (disconnect but leave on for Ins. purpose) .
Charge the battery and give it a stab ,if this fails get a new battery. (How old is the battery.?.

Even with a semi - flat battery surely the fuel pump would still run ... but the starter would fail to heave the engine over? Certainly sounds like a cut off issue.

Yeah left mine in gear and was trying to start it. Sure when I pulled up at the bike stop it was in neutral though

hello elic.

nice of you to introduce yerself....... on yer 1st post.

9 responses... is this of any help ?

or shall we not hear of you again until yer tyre pressure drops?

.. yes i,m on one at the moment !

thanks for the replies but have checked all safety circuit switches relays and diodes, also tip over sensor. Not kill switch or in gear, begining to think must be ecu fault. Tyre pressures are fine garry cheers :)

It's prob the battery. Your Ape is a testy little ***** with it's juice. Had the same problem yesterday. I charged it for hours using both 2 and 10 settings. After getting sick of waiting, I hit it with the 50 quick start switch (kinda like a little shot of nitrous) and WHAMMO! My Ape woke and off I went. Started fine again after riding it around for a bit. Just gotta go with the flow on those batteries.
