i have owened my 2006 tuono 1000r for 2 months now and have noticed a grumling noise from both the cluch side casing and the generator side.I have opend gen casing and all seems to be in order.
It sounds like some thing is rubbing but the noise does not increase if reved it stays constant.
Any idea anyone
thanks

I assume this is the first time you have noticed this?
The T makes a lot of rumbles/grumbles being a V twin. At times mine sounds like a skeleton having a **** in a dustbin.

gf, a skeleton having a **** in a dustbin. Is that noisy :dunno

Have heard it before and 2 mechanics have said it does not sound right
Almost like a rumbling bearing but stays constant not increasing if reved

Chris, if 2 mechanics have said it don't sound right, you need one of them to investigate it for you.
Hope its not too expensive for you.

Do either of the mechanics have experience of the Aprilia ? - to just say it doesnt sound right doesnt really inspire confidence...

Maybe take it along to an Ape dealer for an opinion.... Autorama maybe ?

Morning Aldo,

when younger we didn`t wear helmets but the noise was probably more bearable.

My problem with no hat was my hair got all knotted

I know this an old thread but i have had a crap morning, late for work, blah blah blah and then i read this and literally laughed out loud, it is probably the best way to describe my T, goign from a Blade which sounds like a finely tuned sewing machine to my T which sounds liek the above is a bitof a shock even now ive owned it for over a month, it is a raw, noisy bugger, but i do love it.
