Has anyone got a decibel meter app on their phone n if so is it accurate, cos l need to know how loud my v4 is to pass 102 dba at croft on April 20th. Is anybody else doing that track day ?:megaphone

Yes,I have one for my iPhone. Its not very accurate.Seems to pick up background noise.I guess it would give you a rough idea, but dont rely on it.
102db is quite loud.My 999S made 99db at Cadwell with a Termignoni assymetric system.

Mind you,the open clutch was louder than the exhaust!:lol

just be aware the max the Iphone mic can measure is 105db. Think the standard can with the valve open is 98db, not sure what the decat would do.

Standard can, but I have decatted it n cable's disconnected from flap. It is fairly loud !

reconnect the cable I would just to be sure, there a bit hot on the noise now because of the moaning fookers,Mallory has suffered loads because of this :no

apps are ***** tried them ..u can get a db meter off e,bay for a tenner,be interested to no what standard exhaust with flapper disconnected will be cos my new gpr can is too loud at about 107 with both db killers in ..want to do pembrey and that is 102 limit.get back to us m8
cheers
bash

Where you hold the noise meter can make a difference too. Most of the tests i've seen are taken half a meter from the outlet at 45 deg.

Some tracks continue with the noise meter as your going round in your sessions then all you see is a black flag :no

Seems my apprentice db checker wasn't holding meter at right distance.Correct reading is 99.8db at 5000 revs standard can with flapper connected and cat removed.
