no spark

They both seem to be well into the subject, I just hope that it get's sorted.

If that Rotax is not sealed, has screws on the back, it probably can be looked into. I mean, if it is all sealed in epoxy, forget it. However, it could be a prom pin floating out or who knows? Motherboard cooked? Broken prong at one of the legs that both harness connectors snap over the ECU? Did you poke each pin to see if one lost a tight fit?

It's not a rotax, it's a Siemens ECU.

Well that's passed half of my lunch break. I didn't even notice the foul tasting cupasoup. Thank you.:thumbup

You're welcome! Do you know what's wrong with my motorcycle? I'm so sad, I mean, sonofabitch I'm missing perfect riding weather...

Hey mogp,

If you want a good known part, tell me which pins to stab on the Siemens. The 06-09' years are interchangeable I believe. We should match readouts in other words, right?

Ok, back again after a long hiatus. Got fed up with this problem and after testing to the Nth degree decided swallow my pride and take it to the Aprilia shop here in Baton Rouge. After some troubleshooting Randy (nice guy) replaced the ECU with one from a co-workers bike. My ECU is bad, $1300 down the $hitter. Is this an odd thing to fail on these bikes or is it common? Looked around for a used unit but found nothing, i've been looking into the Microsquirt unit but there seems to be no support for a Tuono installation. It promises to be a very interesting project, but i don't know if i want to tackle it right now. In the end i think it would cost at least equal to the replacement ecu because i would have to replace the dash also.
