How do lads and lasses. Been working abroad for the past few months and finally now have the chance to be with my pride and joy. However i have started to find some issues that need addressing. The most annoying one being the crappy neutral. I have heard about a replacement jet that is supposed to help. Any ideas how to purchase said part and how hard is it to replace? Also a previous owner has lost/mis placed/removed a small grub screw from the clutch lever. As a result, the adjuster pin has a habit of turning in on the clutch piston resulting in the biting point being at the lever fully in. Not good at traffic lights. Has anyone had the same problem? I've tried a number of different grubs but cant find a similar thread. Any help would be most appreciated. Cheers

Although you will need that little grub screw, from what you've described it's sounds very much like the clutch master cylinder needs bleeding. This is a common problem on your model. Open the bleed nipple on the master cylinder by the clutch lever and carefully pull in the clutch and retighten. Repeat twice more and see if your problem is sorted. Be careful not to get any spot of fluid on the paintwork though.

This should cure your neutral selection problem. Your bike already has the 40 jet fitted i believe

After bleeding the clutch, use some loctite on the lever.
I don't think you have a jet 40 yet.
JET 60 - YR: 2004-2005
Replacing the jet is easy done and I can get you one for a tenner!!

That grub screw is mega important as if the actuating rod turns it can make the clutch slip like fook...........dont ask how i know that.

And dificulty getting it in to neutral i bet is due to the rod being wound in toomuch.............;you should have 10mm of free play on the clutch lever

Thanks so far for the info, will definately try bleeding the clutch master cylinder but still need to locate a grub. once its in then i'll loctite it in place. Got some time yet because the bike is being stripped for its first proper winter inspection by me. Do it to all the bikes just to make sure everything is ok. So if anyone knows where i may be able to get one, pass it on please.
