Newby / Misty clocks

I left mine in the boiler cupboard over night i think this helped it out.

Have you made sure its a good even seal all the way round thats where i failed first time.

Let us know how it goes

:cheers

yeah mate, got a good even seal all around , had some excess squeezed out evenly all round too, i just wiped it off with my finger ...
hope it works...if not, at least i tried lol

If its a good seal i am sure it will be fine. Amazing how **** the original seal is eh? Stupid buggers Aprilia how the hell they thought that ***** would keep anything out!

now you're going to positively hate this.....

actually, the weak point for letting moisture into the clocks is NOT around the perspex lens, it's around the gasket protecting the multipin connector on the back...air pressure changes can cause moist air to be drawn in....and there lies the problem...

Tifa cheers for that, if mine starts to go again this will be the first stop in resolving it.

:cheers

seems all good...apart from a bloody fingerprint inside the lens (i thought i cleaned it lol )

Sorry

double glazing is a good idea.....but it won't work.....

it WILL solve the fogging on the inside of the lens....but it will not prevent internal condensation....and when the moisture levels get high enough, the moisture condenses on the PCB with really bad results...i.e. reverse tacho/clock flashing....I'll post a vid if you're unsure of this...

let me know, and I'll try to find it...

I think you may need to click on it or something to open it....

Ignition off...key out...you will notice that instead of the little red imobiliser triangle flashing in the top r/h corner, the clock flashes 00.00 alternately with the tacho, whilst said tacho is trying to go into reverse a couple of mm.
This is caused by a short to earth created by condensed moisture on the pcb....

Hi Tifa
Yes clicked it, viewed it, i shall be keeping a close eye on that when i am about to buy a bike, nice one
