Hi, picked up a new rsv today & it's the best bike I have ridden, however, I can't find neutral unless the engine is turned off. The bloke test rides had the same problem & wanted to spend all day pissing about and riding it around. I got threaders & said just give me the bike & if it carries on I'll bring it in. Have ridden all round Cornwall & it hasn't freed up. Any ideas :dunno

they can be akward to find neutral, souds like it needs bleeding,if you need any help,Im near Bodmin & do a lot of work on bikes,Griff was here for 4days serviceing them on his tour

welcome.....I believe there is a valve thingy you can change. Search this forum the thread the info is in here somewhere.

where is the best place for servicing round here? I'm about 15 mile east of you.

Get a new clutch slave, I put on a MPL clutch slave, but still have to bleed from time to time.

welcome mate you can change the oil jet this will help sort your neutral problem i think its called 0.4 jet

the oil jet comes as standard on your 08,an mpl or similar will make the clutch lighter but no difference in finding neutral, service wise I do my own but Griff /Fusebox the gaffer of Aprilia Performance is the man ,when it comes to these bikes & I think he's too cheap,£275 for full service, oils, clutch brake fluid, valve clearences,TB setup & personal suspension setup,he's down again later in the year or if your desperate he may come down before, there's quite a following with these aprilias, its not the type of bike you change because next years model has different stickers on it,come along on the 25th up to Bristol for the Italian Festival & meet Griff & all the boys from here,Ill PM you with my mobile number & address

I find it best to get neutral from second on mine.

Threaders ? Do you work near helston ?

Welcome to the forum, nice to hear you're enjoying your new acquisition.

With regards to the neutral issue, for the mean time slip it in to 2nd and then try for neutral, you'll find this much easier.

First thing to do is make sure your clutch is bled correctly, the slightest bit of air in the circuit makes for difficult selection of neutral. Once that's done then you need to check your chain tension is spot on, mine was slightly outside of the tolerances and it made it difficult to get neutral.

Eventually you will need a .40 oil clutch jet fitting, this small jet restricts the amount of oil allowed through to the clutch plates, too much oil equals drag so the .40 jet has a smaller orifice to allow less oil through.

Have fun.

Welcome mate! i think AndiRSV started a thread about jet40 to sort out the neutral problem which shows how to do it, try a search for that.

As Vince has already said fellas, his bike already has the 0.4 oil jet it's only the older pre 03.5 bikes that really need the smaller oil jet

Yep go down from second, Its a foible, and I love it :D. You will soon find it ....
