Welcome mate, yep i'm on the good old i.o.w too, I've got a 08 gen 2 factory for riding about on the roads and a v4 aprc factory for track, done various mods to both, top bikes, go for it, you'll love a aprilia, just get the best one you can afford, then start modding, lol.
