I'm new to the forums and could do with a bit of advice, first though allow me to introduce myself.
A well rounded (in the middle anyway) 47 year Mancunian who has been reborn (again) to the joys of two wheels. Ive had all sorts of bikes since the age of 17 and now Ive got a lovely V1 Tuono on an 06 plate with only 7k miles (It must have been one of the very last V1's to be rolled out of the factory). I love the drive of it and its exactly the kind of bike I want at the moment. My knees are way to knackered for them fancy sports bike things. Ive had the Tuiono for 18 months and done 6k miles on it. My ownership hasn't been without its problems having had a power commander fitted to solve a fuelling issue leaving me £450 lighter (an expense that could have been avoided as the problem turned out to be a blocked fuel filter.. oh well ...) And having to replace a few minor parts after the bike just fell over .. honest. The biggest problem I have faced is the lack of professional Aprilia knowledge in the North and the availability of spares. Aprilia really do need their arse kicking for this one.

Anyway, Im here for advice, so I will begin.

I want a few after market products to spruce the old girl up a bit. To list but a few; mirrors, chain (gold coloured), screen (maybe double bubble), a few colour coded nuts and bolts and maybe a few new end can and some carbon fibre lookalikey stuff (hugger etc). Bits for Tuonos seem a little hard to come by and would seem attract a premium when I have found them. Does anyone have any preferred online retailers that they would swear by with good stock based in the UK?

Thanks

welcome on board mate, flea bay is always a good source for gen 1 and 2 bling

New end can go to BR Racing hay on Wye. They've got really good deals on Mivv cans at the mo.
Apart from that I've never really had any problems finding bits for the old girl.
Check Griff at Aprilia Performance for chains or just ebay really.

I think others have preferred websites but I just trawl the internet.

I dont know where you have looked, but there is loads of stuff out there.Ebay is your friend.:yes
Mirrors,...dont know what you want, but places like Busters, demon tweeks,Hein Gericke have a good selection. If you are looking for something flashier, try Rizoma. Not cheap, but top quality.Plenty of Chinese looky-likey mirrors on Ebay.
Screens,...Skidmarx,do screens as standard fit or double bubble,or Ebay.
Chains,...B&C Express or Ebay.
End cans,...plenty on Ebay.STiX got a nice one for not a lot of money.
Fake Carbon,..nah sorry,AFAIK nobody does the fake stuff for the Tuoldo. These are Italian thoroughbreds,...they demand the best.Keep yer eye out for Ebay bargains and get the proper stuff.
Coloured nuts and bolts,...(cough!)...you sure about that?If you really must, have you looked at Pro Bolt?
For Aprilia spares in general,I use Ultimate Parts.
http://www.ultimateparts.net/
Hope that helps.

Now that is an answer. Saying that the MIVV I got only cost me £275 for a Titanium one. Thought that was a bargain

All good ... thanks for the response fellas. Im always looking out for stuff on EBay, never seen anything that took my eye.
KeithB - Fair comment about the Fake Carbon. What was I thinking !! As for the coloured nuts and bolts, they would be strategically placed to replace the ones that are oxidising at a rapid rate of knots. Previous owner left the bike in a very damp shed I think. Only the gold coloured ones though to match my Pazzo brake/clutch levers.
Cheers. Loads to go at there ..

Have you upgraded the sidestand yet? that's a good place to start, after all you won't want to break all your carbon bits and pieces,
followed by a pair of AP rearsets so that you have a dependable back brake. A decent steering damper.
Anything carbon is good...............

A lot of the guys on here use the rocket centre, charley tuono works there, so they are generally good.

ASH - Sidestand is original. I must admit the stand always struck me as a bit flakey, but hadn't considered a replacement. Can you recommend any where? (I will of course look on Google).
So many products, so little money!

I can sort you out with most of the parts you are looking for, also with a discount for forum members.

Mark

Do a search on the forum pages regarding a sidestand, there are a few options to replace the original. (they're crap)

I will bear that in mind. Thanks Mark. Is there a special way that a discounted transaction needs to take place, or OK to just ring up?

Just call mate, I will make a note of who you are.

Cheers Mark

Welcome Spinney and full marks for the intro' ... 10/10
