Hi, I'm just introducing myself. I have had the T for 6 months now. Its a great bike but it is eating tyres for fun. I have Metzeler Rennsports on. On the second one on back, they are just about done and so I am looking for new rubber.
Pirelli Corsa 3 or Bridgestone 023. Or what do tou run on?
thoughts please.

Hi Emmo, welcome to the madhouse :thumbup

Re tyres: I've just replaced the Rennsports my T came with with Dunlop Sportsmarts. Only done about 400 miles on them, but they feel great, stacks of grip and they are meant to last well.

Don't know much about Pirellis (never used 'em), but I'm a big fan of Bridgestones. A few guys on here use 023s and rate them. Tbh, there aren't many really ***** tyres these days.

I have not considered Dunlop's. Metzeler on back has only lasted 1400 miles.Considering Pirelli as I have had these before and work well in the dry or wet. Have also had Bridgestone but not the 023. Ron Haslam looks impressive on the 023( see Bridgestone web site) plus if they last its a bonus.
 
Yeh, when the throttles off the brakes are on !!!
Seriously, these tyres are way to soft for road use. Great for track use.
 
Sounds like yer Metz jobbies should be listed in the Pish Products thread wi only 1400 miles !

....Ah rate the Dunlops as ah think they mak a tyre that suits the weather conditions up here in Ricoland, ie maistly pishin doon. Have qualifier 2s oan the noo and they have been the berries.....awa tae change tae the SportSmarts next week as the Q2s are fekked
 
Mitchelin Pilot Road 3's for me all the way. Stix can vouch for their stickiness as their temp was way hotter last weekend than someone running an intermediate race tyre. hotter = grippier
 
Got just over 4 thou from Dunlop Quali 2's. Track day, euro trip and top razzin on the Rsvr. Got Pirelli Dragon Pro's on the T and the fronts got loads left but I'm on me 3rd rear. Just about get 2 thou out of the rear's but their perfect if all you do is tear arse on a Sunday. Soon as the front's gone I'm putting the Quali 2's on.

I have Rennsports on and about to change them this week . Would have the same again 3000 + miles. but they have stopped making them.

The equivilant are Pirrelli Corsa`s i think?.

Anyway I have gone for Metzler Interact 3 s £154 for the pair . Now £160 at https://www.bctmotorcycles.co.uk/index.jsp

I tell people of this contact and nobody seems to take advantage ????.

I get my oil and filter etc , I doubt you will get cheaper.
 
Corsa 3's for me.I'm a bit of a wimp,so my Rennsports lasted 2400 miles.Mind you,some of that was running in miles.
 
pirelli rosso corsa on mine wearing quite good 2500 ish at the moment think I'll probably get 4000 out of the rear, I may try the standard rosso on the rear next with a corsa front

Had Rosso Corsas on until today when the rear went from looking a little ragged to steel showing through in 40 miles flat ! And that was after just over 2000 miles.
Got 2800 out of Quali2s
Got 3000 out of Michelin 2cts
Just put on Corsa 3 today and it feels good so far after 150 miles

I found the Rosso Corsas to be the stickiest, then the Quali2 , finally the 2ct ... They were all good tho'
 
ah dinnae think it really matters these days as all sports tyres are **** hot compared tae what wiz on offer a few years ago.....

.....an a doubt maist o us mere mortal type fuds wid ever over strecth any o them oot oan the normal roads any way.....on the edge mibbe but nae tae the point o meltin the bugger in 22 laps sort o ****.....

Pittin oan set Dunnies new Sportsmarts this week any hoo..
 
yep- my rennsport is goosed after 2400 - shame Im gonna have to replace the front aswell , as thats in good nick - probably cos the front is in the air so much with the 15t front sprocket n map 2 :)
