hi all, just sold my '01 zx6r, bought a '02 rsvr for the same money i got for the kwaka! so much more bike for my money. im loving the rsv so far and its my first vtwin and im hooked. my only problem at the moment is the positioning of the switchgear on the left handlebar. i would like to twist it up a bit to make the indicator switch easier to reach while operating the clutch for town riding. i see that there is a small pin that has to locate in the handlebar so does anyone know if its possible to rotate the whole handlebar a little? im also finding the clutch heavy but have seen the various causes of this now so plan on stripping the clutch slave this wkend and bleeding the system through. will attempt to load some photos on, not great quality as off a mobile. also im looking to do a trackday later this yr in the uk, any recommendations? i did silverstone last yr and would like to try somewhere different.

As well as bleeding the clutch try stripping down the clutch lever and cleaning all the working parts, greasing up the pivot on reassembly Ive found that made a big difference on my factory (do the brake lever as well) both are now much smoother and lighter to use! There's no going back from a v twin! your hooked for life now mate!!

Re track days, Cadwell, Donington, Oulton & Brands are all great tracks. I found Silverstone too big & open. Surprisingly I prefer the older style tracks.

The switchgear has a locating pin to stop it rotating. If you split the 2 halves of the switchgear you can pull out the pin with pliers which will allow you to rotate it.

snetterton is actually the track i was hoping to do, im slap bang in the middle between brands and snett, only 45 mins away from both, did brands indy in a car a few yrs ago but not a fan of the indy circuit. cant pretend im the fastest guy out there, only done one bike trackday so far, how much is the snett day in june? also re the switchgear, is there any way of rotating the whole handlebar as if i can keep the pin in the switchgear to avoid it slipping then i would like to keep it if poss. whereabouts all you guys based then?

The switchgear position is easy to become accustomed to, just give it time and you won't think about it anymore. I wondered the same thing when I got mine. I figured if I could come to terms with the horn/turn signal switch flip-flop, I could do the rotation of the left hand controls.

Hey Ninja, Snett is £95 through No Limits, so bit of a bargain I think but I saw somewhere (can't find it now) that the redevelopment was to get an upgrade in class so one would assume prices will also be "upgraded" ;)

I've got to be honest I find the indicator about half a thumb width low but I'll give it a while and see how I adjust. Maybe I'll be back asking if you sorted yours lol.

I'm based in a village east of Stevenage

Ninja i'm not sure how snug a fit the switchgear is on the clipon but if you do go down the route of removing the pin, just put a little insulation tape round the clipon and the switchgear should nip down nicely and not rotate when being used.
