Are they the MIVV stubbies mate ? rumour has it that its an arse to set the bike up to run properly when they are fitted, They are sellin brand new ones on ebay for around that price but you dont get a chip with them and thats the important bit :thumbup:biggrin

the lad up here dave milling is the official aprillia dealer for cumbria
i'll only get them if he says he can set them properly, he's getting 3 sets and putting them on another bike.
personally i like blue flame! any experience of them? do they need a chip also?

I was advised by Don at Southern Cross to steer clear, he races Aprilia and has tried every combination of exhausts, at best he lost 10bhp with stubbies, i trust his knowledge and experience 100%, Exhaust and airbox mods usually require a chip as engine is more free flowing in the air and gas department :thumbup:thumbup

ok where do i get these chips from (no pun intended)
WHAT IF I PUT BLUE FLAME CANS ON (I LIKE THEM) can any free flowing chip do the same job???
what about a power commander, will that do the job?

so many questions!!!!!!!!

prelli diablo supercorsas going on this weekend too

You should notice a big difference with the Pirellis on....mine came with them and i have to say they are the best tyres I've ever experienced on a bike...loads of feedback and they inspire total confidence (when they're not deflating due to valve problems!!!!):thumbup Our mate SouthPaw has blue flames on his and they look absolutely brilliant- very high level and sound massive, so if it's possible get some for the RSV...but check with your dealer re mapping/airbox mods/chips etc...:biggrin

should i buy a K+N filter then or rene box, or do i need to do both that and the exhausts at the same time... just not got the money for the cans just yet

I myself havent really heard that the K+N really does that much to help the bike. Many people swear by the air box, but if the funds are an issue right now, then the best bang for your buck at this time is probably cans. Aftermarket are lighter and sound better, and you would would just need a shop to change your mapping. If you are mechanically inclined, you can have your stock pipes cored for a few hundred dollars.

Or....

Go in debt with the rest of us and just buy everything you want now!

for those who don't know (mainly accross the pond) K+N is just a well known make of race air filter with lifetime guarantee.

Gonna have a good chat wi Dave next week and get some cans and a map sorted.

Had diablo supercorsas and metzeler racetecs on my R1. By far the best tyre i've ever had. After my off last year (on dunplops) i needed something to inspire confidence and these did the trick..... Might keep the pilot sports on for winter though as you can't get the most out of the pirellis in the damp or wet...

gonna harden the suspension up to. I'm 15 stone so find the rear squats a little on acceleration and fast cornering......

Ah well its all good experimentation
