Hello All,
thought I should introduce myself as I've been using the site for the past few months for information, the site is full of great advice and saved me a lot of time and worry!
The bike is a 2000 rsv-r which was not well looked after when I bought it but was the best I could afford so it is a useable work in progress, although not in this weather :exclamation
My last bike was a buell xb9r which was a lot of fun and surprisingly very reliable, and before the buell there is a long list of the good the bad and the ugly (more bad and ugly than good!)
So a big thanks in advance, you seem like a very helpful group !!
Michael

It was in a bit of a cosmetic state, I don't think it had been cleaned since it was new and it had been ridden through I don't know how many winters. It's amazing what some time and elbow grease does. The previous owner had given up when all in needed was some tlc and not a lot of money thrown at it. It wasn't until I'd been on this forum and seen that the mechanics are pretty bullet proof and also its little quirks (rear brake, getting neutral etc) are nothing to worry about that I decided to buy it. Almost all of the fastners were looking really tired, the swing arm covers are hiding where a previous owner tried to polish it and then gave up! and the suspension needs a good service which I'll get done before the summer the list goes on but it's worth the effort, even the short time I've had on the road with it had me grinning from ear to ear.

Welcome mate nice bike. Am new to the site also and as you will see that all these guys are top :thumbup
