I have the same issues but cant use optimate as no power in garage, instead if the batts dead, this you may find usefull, I have connected two 6mm starter and earth straps from the batt to home made brackets under the rear seat cowl, so now all i do instead of undoing the front seat, I connect jump leads to these newly installed terminals and from a spare bike battery it starts real quick, pop back the cowl and im off.
