Hi DrRossi,
Fairly new to the group too, seem like a good bunck of lads and lasses.
i'm on an 03 Tuono what are you doing to the engine management and for what reasons?

What are the dutch roads like? I've only ever been to Amsterdam so never got to see what it would be like to ride, looking for ideas for 2010 trip with the lads at work..
cheers.

Due to emissions and sound regulations our engines are not running as they should.
Crazy if you think of it that they spend millions on developing a bike and then due to a couple of paper pushers it can’t perform as it is designed for.
Don’t expect 20 hp but there is a lot to gain in drivability and even some in performance.
Since we have fairly good fuel quality over here I adjust the spark- and fuel tables to optimize performance and drivability.
With a standard PC you only can adjust fuelling, and I think there is a lot to gain from ignition advance.
So running around town gets much better eliminating the flat spot and keep it on a good ATF ratio throughout the rev range is what we are looking for.
A lot of us replace the reflection bafflers with absorbsion ones so exhaust gasses can flow much easier.
Simple things as a smaller front sprocket helps a lot to.
About our roads, they are fairly good it you know where the speeding camera’s are.
I drive a lot on the country side and occasionally on the circuit Zolder in Belgium.
Well I might catch up with you next year!
Cheers
Alain

G'Day DrRossi,
The speed camera operators here in Tasmania hide in private vehciles with dark tinted windows. The devious scumbags.A ploy to improve Road Safety or to boost the State Revenue ! Our roads here are great for motorcycles. I started riding when 30plus bikes could ride (race) 120km up the east coast, without being hassled. Now if we done this, they confiscate your bike for a month+. Oh how times change.
Cheers Perry

Welcome.
Last time I came to Holland was to watch world superbikes at Assen (1998 I think). Got caught speeding at 155mph......oh what fun we had !

We can beat that in he UK, in Wales the Chief Constable is a Bike hating b**tard and he has coppers hiding in horse boxes... and we have ANPR in all traffic cars so they know who everyone is as you pass them by.
We have more cameras per mile than any other country...buy the way.
But on that note as far as i'm concerned 30's 40's and 50's are to be obeyed. national speed limits are "as fast as required to be able to stop on your side of the road".
Keep it below 100mph where possible as that's a licence looser.
It's not speed that kills it's the inapropriate use of speed...

Rant over.
