http://images.fotopic.net/?id=57227857&noresize=1

getting used to the appauling ride at low speeds but once its up and going its great!

Anyone know where I can get a nice set of red black and silver leathers for this paint scheme

Also does anyone know where I can get a kit to just adjust the handlebars to come up by about a inch to get over the ride position at low speeds?

Hi autotecart.
Welcome to the zone, nice bike.
I have loads of leathers, what sizes are ya? Chest,Waist Height.

Why do you say appauling at low speed, do you mean ride position or something else? mate.

Steve

hello and welcome tony!!!

mahoney can sort you leathers mate his collection is more thanextensive i can assure you , in fact its bloody impressive!! I think i wondered round his stock rooms for about half and hour before he came and found me!!

i hope i can help with the rough running mate , can you expand on it a bit for me?? is it riding position or fuelling issue?? does it feel very loose or sommink??

Let me know!
Cheers
Griff

Stunning looking bike you've got there Tony. Not had mine long and think I had similar problems. Sprocket change and clutch bleeding helped the low speed stuff for me.
I feel your pain on the low bars as it's a bit more of a stretch than then Jap 4's I've had but I'm getting used to it, maybe it'll bend you into the correct shape over time, cos I think that's what's happening to me, I even eat my dinner in a racing crouch now.

Stunning bike mate and in the best colour sceme IMO:thumbup

Low speed fault is probably gearing, drop a 15tooth front sprocket on her adn that will sort her out a treat mate. You get used to the riding position as it is very different to every other bike i've ridden. The riding position makes perfect sense when you get out into the countryside or on track though.

Heres mine

Mate: Do a Google on "Gilles Variobars".

These will raise your bars up no problem, and sort the riding position for you.

I`d post a link, but you`re better off doing a Google, as there`s LOADS of results for it, and you can see what you prefer, and prices, etc...

Hope this helps. :thumbup

Hi,

I've had my RSV for about a month now and I did find the riding position quite strange at first especially at low speeds. Found the more I ride the bike the more I have adjusted my riding style. Took the missus out on my FZ1s yesterday (RSV is my toy) and actually think the RSV has improved my riding all round. Honestly don't think the low speed pain will go away but find sitting more upright and taking the pressure off my wrists as much as possible helps. Thinking of rear sets but not really sure if that will help or hinder.

many thanks

Many thanks for you very kind words and warm welcome!!

Yes its the riding position that is the pain and as some people have mentioned it now, that bumping and grinding at low speed irrespective of what gear I am in. Its like I am driving my P1 impreza at low speed as its hunting back and forth. I try and adjust my riding position to a more vertical one, even holding the bars by my fingers, but to no avail. Maybe the extension to the handle bars may do the trick.

But on the open road it really is a dream bike, albeit not as good as the blades I have had in the past. It all seems to vastly improve as te speed builds and its a great bike for sure. Love the colour scheme, I even had the nike shop spray the wheels the same colour as the red on the fairing and it looks really good now.

As for the leathers, many thanks for the kind offer I am very interested indeed. Looking for a branded make really dainese, Texport or alpinestars in red and silver with black.

these would be great

Hi Tony.

Avoid the swift, they are made of tissue paper , the texports are not too bad for the money and the Dainese are awesome if you happen to be a Dainese cut and have a almost £1000 spare.

Give me a pm mate and I will help you out.

Steve

by the way whatever happened to the Texport leathers brand, They have a website, but noone is responding to my emails I have sent them?

Hi Mayoney great suits on your site, I do have a set of Texport black and red ones that I am looking to offload if you were interested? Shame you were not closer or I would have come up to see what you have there. Braintree to swansea nearly 300 miles!! Are those all the suits you have on your site or are you having others coming in too?

tony

I have loads that never get listed mate.
Texport still make leathers but they have always been slow responding to mails mate, some of their suits are ok others are not so let me know if you decide to buy any.
If you can tell me your measurements I will let you know what i have suitable.
I need your chest , waist, inside leg and height pls.

PM me your email addy and I can send pics.

Steve

2005?

Gorgeous colour scheme. This one has always been my favourite, next to the black and gold scheme of the Factory.

Are you looking for a 1 piece or just a jacket?

The Texport 1 piece had some bad reviews about it (not double stitched). It looked good though.

mine is a 2007 spec totally standard, got upgraded carbon handle bar covers and did buy the inner air box grabber and top fairing covers in carbon, but the quality was not as expected. It was well worth getting the wheels repainted to match the fairing as the colour of the originals were quite different!!

Anyone know where I can get a reasonably priced set of these carbon bits? Not looking to do anything else to it, want the bike to look as standard as possible
