This is right on my doorstep, been to view it and it's in great condition with FSH but would you really say £3k is a worthy price? Owner will not budge.

Might be worth looking for a 2003 spec model. Should be some around at that price. Quite a few upgrades over the 2002 model. Radial brakes, nicer gear ratios, black frame etc

If you have to go a few (hundred ;)) miles to get a good one then well worth the effort.

Close to home is rarely a good reason to buy a bike.

i've been to scotland to buy a bike before and i'm in kent..then nuneaton...if its a goody its worth the effort
 
Pretty much, had a 916 two years ago but that ended quite badly and I've been aching for a litre twin ever since.
 
I've pretty much reached an agreement with a chap on a bike that I'm settled on plus Skullface is my mate who is looking at that particular bike.
