hi fella's, just fitted a pair of mivv carbon cans to my 06 tuono, the first thing i did was remove the baffles, they sound awesome , like god smoking a bong!! but ive noticed that on tickover it "hunts" a little and there seems to be a very slight flat spot at low revs, when you wind it open it pulls like a train (and you go deaf!!) im running the standard airbox, i was wondering about a replacement k&n filter for it or someone mentioned an airbox mod? i think its running very slighty rich as there is some unburnt fuel pops on overrun.
any advice welcome
cheers chaps

ahhh i did'nt realise you could change settings, how do i change it and where do i find it? ive not been in it yet
cheers mi awd's

You need an "axone"..... usually means a trip to an Ape dealer.

Price varies.... £25 -£50...

ok this is all new territory to me, whats an axone? wheres the nearest ape dealer to derby? does it have to be a ape dealer or can it be done by a engine specialist, i have sam ermolenko and jts dyno near me

Aprilia performance is in Tamworth, not sure how far that is from you but it would be worth the effort as Griff is probably the best out there

Hey there guys. Did you get any joy on your pipe issue. I've put on a set of Devel end cans and my 07 turbo R seems to be doing the same thing. I've just had a run to Plymouth from BUDE and started to pick up a bit of a flat spot as well as a bit of a sort of miss fire. Any ideas guys. Cheers ATB.

just got back from griff's at aprillia performance in tamworth, the guy deserves all the accolades he gets, he is a proper legend!! first thing he does is put a brew on! then he hooked it up to the axone machine, ive no idea how it works but it looked reassuringly expensive!! turns out with the baffles out it do'snt get enough back pressure causing it to hunt on tickover, griff demonstrated this by covering the ends of the pipe with his hand and the bike ran somoothly, so its back in with the baffles!! to be honest . it was fookin loud! had to push round the corner to avoid pissing off the neigbours, without the baffles it sets off car alarms and reduces small children to tears!!
i'd initiallly assumed the mapping could be done by software but it has to be done with the axone machine by a pro.
what was brilliant about aprillia performance was the attention to detail, griff noticed my chain was a bit loose and could do with some lube, i think it bugged him so he retightened, cleaned and relubed my chain! then as he wheeled it out it , he said it did'nt feel right so it was back into the workshop and much to my shame i only had 16 p.s.i in the front tyre!
i can't think of many places that would go the extra mile, if you have an aprilla and you live within a 100 radius of tamworth then griff is the only place to go to, top job!

stick the baffles in first, see if that helps at all, if not , you'll probably need to find someone to do it for you

Hi mate. Baffles haven't come out. I fear if I took them out the local population would think IS have beached. Cheers again mate.

if your baffles are still in and its hunting and is generally lumpy then it time to get to a specialist to get it re mapped or setup!
griff at tamworth told me of a set of cans that reduced the horsepower by 7 bhp!! with the baffles out on mine the co2 levels dropped dramatically! should have read 3.0 but was reading 2.3!
real men don't have neighbours!! :)

Lol. Thanks for that. We've got ace motorcycles here in Bude he has a dyno and rolling road so I'll get him to do it. Thanks again mate. If I could I'd happily run over my neighbour. Thanks again.

If your looking to put it on map 2, then you need an axone not a dyno / rolling road. Check they have one....

Roger that mate. He's got all that stuff. He about the only guy in Cornwall that has. I'm taking it up there today. Cheers again.
