New chain & sprockets

I need a new chain and sprockets and wondered who you guys might have used. Am after a 16/42 set up. I have an 06 RSVR.

Got into the habit of using AFAM on previous bikes and have just put chain and sprocket set on the RSVR. Put on a 520 but thinking I should have gone for a 525. Anyone else got an opinion on that?
Got it from Demon Tweeks. Cheaper buying it through their ebay shop so you don't pay postage that they would normally charge from their online shop.

With BB1000 on this, 520 is supposedly the lightweight race option, but it's telling the majority of the Mille Challenge riders kept to 525.

I recently got a DID VX525 chain and sprocket set from DK motorcycles online (this is the recommended upgrade kit not the OE and is a flashy gold colour). I wanted to be sure i got a genuine kit so i emailed DID in the states and they gave me the details of the official uk importer (maxxis tyres oddly) and they directed me to DK. It was a good price <£100 delivered, only trouble is they will only supply the standard gearing (17/42 for my bike {00 mille}) on reflection i could perhaps have ordered the kit for an 'R' which i think is 16/42 as standard, but i wanted to try the standard gearing as mine came with an (admittedly knackered) 16/42 set up. Having done less than 100miles on the 17/42 set up i'm off to get a 16t front again - the bike is bogging down at 70mph in top gear!! Its a trade off cos in second at 30mph the bike is revving about right on the standard gearing. I'm going for 16/42 cos i don't do much urban riding but do a fair bit on M/ways etc. Hope this helps!

Think I am going to take a Renthal set from Mark.

I purchased this kit from Mark and it's top gear and a good price. I've used renthal sprokets before that are super light but I had not used renthal chain. I'm impressed with the chain and the kit as a whole and will be purchasing this kit again when the time comes.

Cheers Dave

Renthal SRS chain is good, but I still prefer AFAM red x ring chain and sproks, 520 chain is ok for racing but you better watch it on the road, longevity may be a prob.
Renthal sproks are good but the chain will outlast them
On any mille -1 front and +2 rear is the way to go for fast road IMO
PS- I have had two DID chains snap on me whilst riding so I dont bother with them now lol

Well, just ordered Renthal chain and sprockets with 16/42 set up. Very pleased with Mark's level of service so far.
