Just been busy Dave, once you get some good weather to enjoy it you won't look back!! You changed the gearing yet???

Gearing's still standard. Iain, the dealer mechanic, keeps on about changing that, not sure about that though. I don't have any trouble on slow roundabouts with jerking etc and the front goes light and starts lifting fairly easily now. Changing the gearing would make the bike more wheelie prone and it certainly ain't short of acceleration as it is!

Does it release some more Italian Horses then! and if so, by how much:eatcorn
I just gotta know:yumyum.
I got my Blueflames to go on and a K&N air filter so hoping for a few more:thumbup:pirate

Not had it dyno'd, it's just the way it now feels. The grunt low down seems even stronger and feels the same amount through most of the rev range.

I think the best way I can explain it is this. When I first changed to the RSV it felt quite revvy, which is a little strange for a big V-twin. Having come from Ducati as well, they are all about grunt.

Swapping the pipes and the map has made it more like a V-twin should be, IMHO. While it still revs a lot more fun can be had at low to mid revs, just playing with all that grunt! :happy

congrats dave, even though I'm still getting used to mine, like the old days as long as i take it easy, the day will come when its time for a bit of maping and cans, be fast, be quick and most of all be safe my freind.

Someone on here in one of the threads asked for pictures of the cans. Now got a couple of good ones so here they are. Sorry, can't find the thread with the request in it.

I'm well impressed with them Badger. They fitted an absolute dream, good quality, nice finish, beautiful welding on the outlet spouts, sound glorious and with the map change have really brought out the low down grunt.

Hi All,
Newbie with an 05 factory, salvage auction rebuild in progress, couple of questions. Is the map 2 you are talking about an E.C.U. map or power commander? I want to gut my standard cans & want fuelling to suit, can't afford aftermarket cans yet, fairings & headlights are expensive!!! Also anyone fitted a digital gear indicator? (Yeah I know, I can't count!!).
Cheers.

Fuel Consumption

What I have noticed is that the fuel consumption has gone up since the pipes/map mod. I'm sure that I used to get close to 100 before the light came on but I've just re-read the Fuel Consumption thread where I said 80-100 before the light. Worked out what I got to a tank full the other day and it came out around 39mpg, which ain't bad in my book for this sort of performance.

Now it's 85 max before the light's on, goodness knows what it's going to be like when the warm, dry weather gets here!! I would like to get somewhere before I put more fuel in :dowhat

Should be more than that Dave unless you are absolutely caning it. Try brimming the tank more. You can usually get a few extra litres in more than you think
