Hi all, just joined as im looking to buy my first Tuono after many years on sports bikes. So tomorrow i'm heading to Raceways in Fleetwood to look at a bike, 2005 looks clean from pics but 29600 miles. Its on ebay at the moment and has been on a few other sites and ive noticed the price has come down. The price I think is a little high considering the mileage. What does everyone else think??
There is also one at www.brookfootcars.co.uk which is a lot cheaper and a lot less miles, but its a car dealer and i'm concerned about lack of back up/warranty/knowledge.
Im more inclined with Raceways as I know someone who bought there and got a good deal and service but is a high mileage Tuono going to be hassle. Im more use to Hondas with engines that run forever so I guess im just looking for a big thumbs up on the Tuono.
Thanks in advance
Guy

Welcome mucker, I've heard the engines let go at 30K :eek

Whit price for the high mileage one ???

The second one looks tidy from the pics and not a bad price either.

O/J aboot the engines they're good for plenty miles.

Brookfoot one does look tidy...

For £100 more than the raceways one you can get an 06 with 12k on the clock:

On Biketrader:
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...code/hg14at/quicksearch/true/page/3?logcode=p

have a good look around.... for that kind of money you may find lower mileage bikes (not that mileage is a prob) i would be looking for a good service history with receipts / stamped book etc if poss....

Good luck

Moog, if it was me, i would go for the one in the car dealers over 20 000 lees on the clock and it looks tidey, or keep looking untill you find what you are looking for, why go for a high mileage one just because its from a dealer and more money, you could buy a warranty for the other bike if thats what you are worried about and still be quids in.

DON'T buy a bike from a car dealer (unless the're in to bikes and sell them often) think about it, IT'S THERE FOR A REASON ---- No bike dealer was stupid enough to buy it!

Nearly 30k is alot of miles. Every other bike you will look at will have less miles than that, just take your time, you will find a good one.

30k miles is nothing for the Rotax motor if they're well looked after and kept on an optimiser.

Hi, thanks everyone. i took a look at the car dealer one. I have credit finance in place but they didnt have a credit licence so couldnt do deal. However, no warranty, no service history, no alarm/immobiliser, rear tyre was well bubbled, either ridden very hard on road or track, not that I think thats bad, after all they are there to be used but new tyres would be needed soon. No tax or MOT but he did say he'd MOT it. Bike was tucked away in a garage instead of been on display and was quite dusty and battery was flat.
Other than that it looked clean, but the cost of fitting alarms, tyres, and the fact it just felt a bit ebay put me off a little.
I had a trip to Raceways, test ride straight away, no messin, bike goes like stink and feels like its been looked after. Exhaust is standard and will have to go. Got a deal with some new kit. Full service history, alarm, etc, tyres spot on, its reasonably local, comes with 3 month warranty. Its high mileage but after reading on here and doing some online, im happy enough it will be ok, and its going to be serviced regular. So this morning i'm waiting for the finance company to contact me and give me their cheapest quote. Oh the joys of a poor credit history :( Hopefully later today I will either have a new (ish) Tuono or i'll be back on the wifes R6.
Thanks again everyone
