Been to the NEC today. The new Tuono is a very nice bike and so it ought to be for £11.5k but i can't see me ever paying anything like that for one.

The 1200 Dorsoduro on the other hand is much more in the same vein as the v-twin Tuono.

That seems much better value bearing in mind it has ABS and traction control as well and being a 90deg twin ought to have much more natural balance in the engine.

I like that dorsoduro, bit more hooliganey i reckon! new v4 tuono would be way too much for likes of me prolly, as in wasted on me doh!

Keith do you rekon the motor's better than the rotax unit in the T?

The motor in the Dorsoduro appears to be more laid back than the Rotax from the reports i have read but its a 90deg V rather than the 60deg of the Rotax. That may have something to do with it and it probably doesn't have or need balancer shafts.

"Do not Touch"

Wuz talking to a bod on the stand.....Its the only one they have.... its a pre production model - ie probably bluetacked together and they dont want owt falling off !

:)

welllllllll...my name IS Keith...so I guess I AM entiled to reply...no?

reports I've read indicate that the 1200 motor is OK...but has none of the bonzai-perzang of the rotax....looks like it's going to get ******* trampled by the new KTM too...
also...that cast swinger....how cheap does that look, in comparison with the beautiful existing fab'd Tuono's??
sorry guys...not my cup of tea I'm afraid.

I'm with you on that Keith.

But that said no bikes are made to the standards they were a few years ago. Have a look at the top yoke on your Tuono and compare it with any bike at the NEC. The only one made to a similar standard is the MV F3. Everything else there is rough cast including expensive Aprilias and Ducatis.

Best keeping what you have.

off topic I know...but did anyone get the chance to sit on the beemer SP2.....imho the finish and detail was exquisite....wayyyyyy ahead of the 1000r...

Do you mean the Hp2?

If i had the cash to buy an exclusive sports bike that HP2 is the one i would go for. It is a racer with some lights fitted.

..sorry, yes, I meant HP2...finish wise, it's light years ahead of any production bike...beautiful, and deffo destined to be a collectable bit of kit in the very short future...

Not seen it in the flesh and I'm not going to the show, but if I could have anything at the moment it would be the Rc8r.

Nob have you had a go on an RC8 , Being an Tuono ouner , I think you wood get bourd with the RC8 with in 200 miles , it hasent got the grin fackter of the tuono R ;) , I was thinking of a MV Brutale 990 ,then I red up on the stats , tis the same wate as a Tuono R , and has the same BHP , , and the serviceing costs are half the price on the T .

I've had an Rc8 itch for years. Its pug ugly but everytime I read up on one its telling me to buy. The new ones got no fancy lectrics on it, everythings adjustable and blimey it even looks good in white and orange. The servicing schedules are further apart now to I think.

Ha, I see. Looks like its just pissed in that glass and set a trap for you.

I can't believe I like it as the most important thing about a bike for me is looks. Don't particulaly like the looks but their growing. I've only got as far as sitting on one and they fit my round frame well.
