Hello from Auburn, CA (near Sacramento)
I purchased a 2007 Tuono in July. First bike since '85. Boy have they changed! Horsepower, tires, suspension, brakes (!!!), all many times better. I'm just getting to the point where I feel I don't need to sneak up on the slumbering beast to take if for a ride. Must be a midlife crisis thing, but I don't care, it's just great to be riding again. Great twisty roads nearby with good pavement, low CHP count, and good weather (Google Earth Old Forest Hill road, or Mosquito Ridge Road out of Forest Hill Ca). My first road bike was an RD 350 with clubman bars back in the mid '70's (yeah I'm that old, like I said a midlife crisis thing). Ride, ride, ride, change the spark plugs, ride, ride, ride. Great fun! Thank goodness I didn't have a Tuono then, I would have killed myself for sure. The Tuono came nicely set up with Akrapovic exhaust, adjustable levers, after market hydraulic fluid caps, seat cowl, Laminar shield, and a battery tender. Since then I dropped a tooth on the counter sprocket, added Aprilia OEM frame sliders, a seat cowl pad, removed the spacers on the front turn signals (they stuck out like Obama's ears), added hydraulic fluid reservoirs socks, new front tire, and replaced all the fluids except the fork oil. I slid the rear end a few times until I softened the preload and adjusted the rebound. I've checked the brown connector (no issues). Great info in the forum. Thanks for letting me into the menagerie.
