Been reading the thread on the 40 jet mod to help bike find neutral a lot better.I dont have a big problem with it,but feel it should be better to find.
Because the bike covered was a 04 model, would the same apply to my 2001 1000r model.

.40 jet will fit all years.

Try queing for a ferry passport control and then you'll be glad you did it.

Neutral - 1st 10 ft back to neutral -1st 3ft back to neutral etc etc.

Tapping it down is great if you have some real movement but useless in a real queue.

I watched a gu at the passport control with an 05 bike and it took about 3 mins for him to get neutral so he could get his passport out. the customs guy was less than impressed given the queue behind him.

Where can you get these jets from ?, The 3 big online vendors dont list them. (We dont have any Aprilia dealers in Essex)

Yorkshireaprillia or Ultimateparts as it is known now.

Made a big difference to my bike, but it still doesn't feel 100%.

I think I have just got used to it now, and filed it under querk number 5.

In the past people have had delivery problems from this site. RSVSteve was one who ordered one of these jets, waited over 3 months for it. They ignored his emails and phone calls. (We did have a long thread going on about it). He finally got it AFTER he'd sold his Mille. I believe he still has the jet, unused. If you want I could get in touch with him for you. He doesn't come on the site much now so a PM now not be picked up.

I remember the thread and I remeber the problems.

I have had a few issues in the past with them, but I think they have sorted themselves out a bit now.

I just order a set of linkage bearings and seals 6 of, and they were on my doorstep in 5 days. Only the seals were off the shelf.

Speedaway were so so when i last used them

Use Rsvr.net. I got some bits arrive from them today and they were super quick.

Do RSVR.NET do official Aprilia parts? I know they do loads of after market stuff, but can you get stuff like bearings etc?

Dan

Yes they are official Aprilia agents for parts and accessories etc.

Tell Nick/Simon colin sent you.

Whilst your there order soome cush drive rubbers. You might not need them but they are down from £6 each to 89p from Aprilia so handy to have. 4 of mine split.

Is Nick the bloke that sounds like he is from South Africa?

He sounds South African cos he is :devious

Simon usually answers the phone and i can understand him a bit better.

Is this place any good. Prices look quite good. What's the service like?
While I'd never seek to differ from the excellent Mr. Spoonz, all I can tell you is that Speedaway had everything I asked for in stock to do my sprag job and had it on my doorstep the next day. The other two I tried - recommended to me by people on here - couldn't.
Haven't tried RSVR.net

I'm sure they all have their off days.
I ujsually find it's the non stock items that seperate the men from the boys in terms of speed.

Cheers spoonz just ordered me Jet40 and cush drive rubbers from Nick,
He was in a good mood and has some sense of humour.
Will be using again , thanks

Agreed Spoonz - Speedaway couldn't get me a fuse box after several weeks. But I was a bit surprised that the usual suspects didn't hold a sprag housing or side cover gasket in stock - knowing RSVs you would have thought they'd have stocked up for winter!
