Okay, I apologise in advance for "gushing", but my first RSVR (in fact my first ever Aprilia) is being delivered tomorrow, and FFS; I cannot wait. :doug

It`s not a new `un, in fact it`s an `04 plate, but it`s an absolute beauty !

I`m just coming back to biking after a 5 year lay-off, and having had loads of jap 4`s, and a couple of jap twins in the past, I`m really looking forward to riding something with a bit more character and "exclusivity" (I`m sure you know what I mean).

Okay, it might be suggested that this should be in the newbie section, but I already posted in there the other day, and I just couldn`t resist, tonight, rabbiting on about the "new bike arriving" thing, as I`m sure you`ve all been there, and you know where I`m coming from. :biggrin:devious

nice one mate glad you got a 2004 model, better looking than those bulbous old models

LOL ! Nice one Vinny, and yes, they`re certainly a looker. Not sure yet what time it`s being dropped off tomorrow yet; I have to ring up in the morning.

Suspense is killing me, and I`m determined to turn straight out on it, don`t even care if it`s p*ssing down, which it no doubt will be....:biggrin

No Vinny, just standard RSVR.

Has full service history though, 10k on the clock, all original apart from the double-bubble screen. Very clean, and I can`t wait to ride, and then clean it some more......:biggrin

Sorry Dexter - your dealer just called me in error asked me to tell you theyre delivering your new bike on Tuesday instead.... :devious:devious

Welcome mate, you'll love it. You've had twims before so you know what your getting into. If youre straight off an IL4 allow your brain to recalibrate, dont over rev and 'torque yourself to death' :thumbup:thumbup

LOL, cheers Beechy, I think there`d be blue-murder now if the dealer cancelled !! :biggrin

I know it`s laughable, and at 46 years old, I shouldn`t be this way, but somehow I don`t think I`m gonna sleep too much tonight ! :burnout

Same age when I got mine last year, totally relate to the excited anticipation on the night before collection (better make that the week before).
Bear in mind at our age you can ride them sensible (ish) but its the quickest way back to being a young hooligan when you need it.
If its totally standard theres really nothing wrong but a change of gearing (sprockets) makes a lot of sense as a very cheap mod which totally transforms and improves the bike.
Decent tyres and race / open cans and a move to Map2 all add about 25% more smiles per miles.
Enjoy

Nice one Beechy, and thanks for the advice mate.

I shall definitely be looking into these things once the beast is here......:thumbup

Well done Dexter .............Youll find its the best thing you ever bought......:thumbup
