Right then, here’s my 2003 in the fastest colour but that's not important now, I plan over the next few weeks to restore the paint finish on the seat unit the front Y piece and the nearside lower.
When I bought the bike in March John the previous owner had told me that the bike had fallen off the stand on his drive only a few weeks after he bought it. I thought dozy sod (then bought the bike and its now easy to see how that would have happened).
Now because the drive was all gravel etc the damage was minimal.
Its localised to the nearside tail section and the fairing lower.
The front Y piece has some normal use gravel rash that is unavoidable in normal conditions. I have been looking at replacing a number of the decals as well to bring the bike to as "near perfect condition"
My plans are to post some before pictures and then maybe step through the repair showing each bit as its completed.
I am off to the factors on Monday to gather my supplies.
I have some very fine stopper for the small scratches as they are really not that deep at all!
Only the very bad nick in the lower will need any filler so that bit should be fairy easy.
I should say I have no formal training in this type of work but I do actually like doing this kind of work as its so far removed from what I do during the normal working day.
Anyway here’s the pictures, not bad really but its going to be a minter !
Heres the front with the bit of road rash
Some of the Lower fairing
And the bit that bothers me most the tail section
Thanks for looking :thumbup
