my millage is now 11000km..

my bikes history:
1st service - 1000km (change oil+filter)
2nd service - 8000km (change oil only)

so i plan to service my bike when the millage is 13000km..

Try all the simple, cost nothing and easiest fixes first mate .....

Basic electrics ... wiring, especially around the battery.

Throttle wiring ... i would lift the tank and pay special attention to the sensors and vac tubes under the airbox.

Anything odd showing on the dash??

Some 04 + bikes have had fuel pipe problems in the tank. The pipe can come partially off or develop pin holes giving fuel starvation at times.
On occastion if you open the tank and turn on the ignition if the pipe is holed or loose you can hear bubbling in the fuel.

The other well known issue is the melting wiring connector behind the rad expansion tank. It it drops the output of the stator enough the bike can misfire under load. Eventually if the connector is at fault it burns out the stator so worth checking if you haven't already.

It's hard to tell as it could be lots of things but try with the cheap things first, if you are sure the fuel is ok, check the chain tension and make sure you dont have any tight or stretched spots in , I assume you keep it oiled? then as already said check the cush rubbers in the back wheel, and also look at the freeplay in the throttle cable, and is the air filter clean ? Good luck:thumbup

If all the simple things are good such as fuel, fuel filter, fuel pump hose inside the tank, operating temperature rises and holds steady....I would look next at the small vacuum hoses under the fuel tank, particularly the rider's right side under the airbox.

There is a connection there that may be broken or cracked. This breakage is caused by the fuel tank being raised with negative pressure inside from faulty fuel tank venting.

If the tank has enough negative pressure, it will grow in length and hug the engine AND this device. When you open the fuel tank after a long ride, does it require a rather firm pull to open the fuel cap? If so, this could be the problem.

This same problem happened to me. Start is ok but any acceleration led to lots of popping noise. Here is a link for the $14.00 part, I believe it is Number 12 on the list.

Easy replacement, just make sure you vent the tank before you raise it and don't spill fuel all over yourself.

All this being said, this may not be your problem, but someone else did the service and may have raised the tank without checking for negative pressure.

cheers!

just serviced my bike yesterday..

change engine oil
change oil filter
clean air filter
change plug
clean injection

but my bike still jerking :dunno:dunno:dunno

not sure if it'll help at all, but on my last bike (GSXR 600), I had a jerking at all speeds - which is a bit worrying at low speeds through traffic as it felt like someone else was pulling the throttle. I found that there was a hairline split in the spark plug cover caps (are they called coils?) and the spark was arcing out so not delivering consistent power.

New coil off ebay for £10 and problem sorted.

My 06 was jerking like that last year, Griff eventually diagnosed to be a faulty coil (Bosch - German *****!:rant). Replaced with a second hand one off Ebay, no probs since. :thumbup

Hi There,

When you are refering to coils, do you mean this:

https://www.af1racing.com/store/Scripts/prodView.asp?idProduct=73736

I am having the same problem, bike jerks like hell when the engine is hot especially at low RPM, however if I maintain at high speeds e.g 110kmh above, runs smoothly.. till i stop at a traffic light and then the same thing happens again..

Thanks in advance, really appreciate the help and advise given :)

Yes Thats a coil

have you had the throttle bodies set up recently? Maybe a simple case of needing doing

Also check vacuum pipe on the throttle bodies for leaks....these can cause erratic running and are a simple and cheap fix

Just a another thought could have a loose connection on the side stand switch cutting the power out. One more check to add to the list.
