I've spent all week tinkering with the bike, amassing spares and making repairs where necessary. Spent all day today putting it back together...and I've got more problems now than when I started:banghead:banghead:banghead

Changed the shock for standard, but it's soft as ***** despite checking the settings...I'm gonna have to check to see if I've got the right linkage, I don't think I have.

Popped the dashboard out to change a bulb...Now the rev light is permanently stuck at 6k, and two more bulbs have blown.

Changed the relays, and stripped the l/h switchgear to do the main beam mod...and the main beam is still erratic, and the rear brake light switch has gone out in sympathy.

The bike runs fine now, and it looks a whole lot better, but I swear if it gives me any more grief I'm gonna crush it and buy a Honda:mad:

Sure looks purdy, tho'...

I'll bear that in mind, but I've only just bought the shock I've got. Just hope it's compatible. I've always got the Maxton to fall back on, but that needs stripping and rebuilding.

do the mod using the diode across the relays...much easier...diodes only 20pence as well

Dont rush into anything Alan ,,,, Stand back have a drink, things always look better after a bottle of red

Or a night's sleep...

I've already sussed the brake switch, stripped down and cleaned the relay box (again), and the lights are working okay (seemingly).

Just the suspension and dash panel left. For the time being I'll whip the shift light bulb out to stop it blinking at me (the C button seems to have given up the ghost), and have a tinker with damping settings.

I'll have the bugger running well come what may.

dont you just need to reset the rev light by turning the key to light the dials then u can move the rev light by holding down a button ....

Stop press....

She's a runner:thumbup

Woke up with a fresh outlook today, and set about each problem methodically. And it's fixed! I smooth-talked the dashboard with a small hammer and, aside from a relay that's on order and a new headlight (the chrome's had it on mine), she's A1.

Even the suspension took kindly to some heavily revised settings (something slightly amiss there, but it's not far off). I got headlights, proper revs, everything!

No,no, I knew the shock was fine, but there's still something not right out back, I've had to adjust everything way up to get some useable suspension. I still think I need a different linkage.
