The new*Moriwaki MD600*bike was presented to the media while gathered at the Polini Grand Prix of Japan, with the Japanese firm announcing plans to participate in the first running of the*Moto2*class in 2010.*The 600cc 4-stroke bike that was presented is the third evolution of the prototype machine developed by Moriwaki Racing and built by Moriwaki Engineering, and is a part of a larger*initiative*by Moriwaki to make purpose-built road racing machines.

Moriwaki also announced that the company is developing a 3-tier platform of race ready machines for privateer racers beginning with the still unveiled MD150, then moving up to the MD 250, and finally the MD600, which you see here. These bikes will be purpose-built racers with privateers in mind.

Technical specifications for the MD600 are as follows:

Engine : Honda CBR600RR (PC40E) Water-Cooled 4 Stroke DOHC 4 Valve, 4 Cylinders.
Displacement : 599cc
Bore x Stroke : 67.0mm x 42.5mm
Overall Length : 2,000mm
Weight : T.B.A
Frame : MORIWAKI Original Aluminum Frame

With the Moto2 rules still subject to change, and now with the advent of Honda providing the spec motor for the Moto2 series, we can expect these technical specifications from Moriwaki to shift and adapt as the racing series takes final form.
