Modern Look for an Old Bike?

Has anybody had success with making the early model RSV look a little more, umm, modern?

I keep seeing bikes wearing R6 race fairings in PB and I want a piece of that!

Are there any fairings, nose cones or seat/tail units that will fit on an early Mille and make the old girl look a touch fresher?

I'm sure they have potential, just need to lose some weight from the bum and slim down at the front.

Well in my opinion the old mille is one of the best looking bikes there is.

But if you like you can get the factory fairings on the old model with some adjustment, there is a thread in the AF1 forum.

I was told that a seat unit off a Kwak 636 fitted the old shape mille's quite easily.

here you go jon, as Dolenc says a couple of guys have modified thier older genI milles to look like the newer genII milles. See Pics:

I agree, the first gen is a porker when parked next too today titchers. But I have a double bubble and lots of panels to shelter from.

I have just put a 09 Blade rear on my 06 Tuono and it looks sic.

I find people either love or hate the mille's styling, and yes in terms of most new bikes she is a bit "round" in a Suzuki TL kind of way, but it certainly is unique and plenty pretty to me, and as a road bike it works perfectly with lots of protection and packing space! I love the styling!!:inlove

when I first got my Mille all I wanted to do was change the arse on it (always thought it looked like a monkey butt (searched hi & lo on tinternet for an alternative look)), but as time has gone by the seat unit has grown on me so much that I couldn't imagine changing it at all - it looks so perfect to me as it is - I think the factory got it right first time.

Just my 2c

dont worry chaps the new HONDA VFR 1200F is on its way v4 engine should be a stormer, get your demos booked :thumbup

The top one (black bike) looks fantastic- I think the back end really compliments the frame. Nice winter project for me maybe?

Anybody else seen any good examples?

I reckon something that would be perfect for the older milles is to have the rear seatcowl lowered by 8cm to give a more flat look.

Do you understand where Im comeing from lads??

now that one ugly mother of a bike mate wow whats honda thinking of first they ruined the blade and now that thing not to mention the dullville ??

i`m sure that i have seen some pic`s some where of a mille with a gixxer k6 ish backend on it , must admit it looked pretty cool , only cant remember where pics are :dunno if i remember will get them put up as i`ve been thinkin on this as well :biggrin
