Hello again Bear - I'm also on GixerJunkies, same username....

Looks to me that your bike is a 2005 RSV-R

Eh up mate. Thats what i was thinking its on a 07 plate . The sales guy kept quite that its a 05 model so i think ill have a little dig when i take it in on Tuesday to get a service. You never know i might get some thing for it.

They must of still been doing them colours in 07 it is a later model because it's got the clear tail lights which were put on the later model's

Sharky, no it's a 2005 model RSVR. Old stock not sold and registered until 2007. The clear indicator lenses were put on the 2005 models, 2004 models had the orange lenses.

Dealers will often sell unregistered early model bikes as a later registration. Some dealers are still doing it with '00 - '03 models.

Don't rely on the light lenses colour to age the bike, most people fit clear lenses to older bikes, myself included....

I have fitted them to mine too.

So as V8 and myself say it's a 2005 model RSVR registered new in 2007. As you say Bear, you might want to go and have a word with the sales guy if he sold you the bike on the pretense it was a 2007 model bike. What does it say on the sales invoice?

I dont think he ever said it was a 07 model just 07 plate and the invoice just says rsv1000r no model year. Ilike the bike so i think it will stay but ill try for a sweetner. I suppose its my fault really for not looking up the difference before going to look at it.

hiya bear, rsvr47 will tell you for sure as he's got or had the same one, but i do agree with the other lads 2005...

No problem lads my mates got an 05 with orange lens and I did write some stuff about being an new registered old model but for some reason when i went to post it the whole lot disappeared and could'nt be bothered to re write it again yes i did think it was an 05 but only surmising about it

Hi Bear, It's a 2005/06 model, I got one the same.

I've seen a few on 07 plates as well, think the lads are right in saying that it is just a late registered model.
