Cheers for that amb67,
I will give it a go this weekend while I am down in Gasboy's garage watching him trying to fix his leaky front shocks on his nice new Colin Edwards rep mille! He should have never sold his old mille to me

That will be those rubbish Ohlins forks then?

(Severely jealous really)

Have fun bleeding it out, I did mine when I first bought it and it took a while, then I read the thread I sent you and did it properly. Took 10 minutes.

I just fitted one to my Tuono last week. Couldn't be easier. 25 minutes to do including bleeding the system afterwards.

Take off your slave cylinder (but leave the fluid cable attached - purely for lack of mess reasons), Withdraw it gently, clean the rod then fit the new MPL. It uses the spacer you've already got there. Then disconnect the fluid cable, fit to new cyclinder using your existing bleed nipple. Bleed the system. Job's a good 'un! I thought the damned thing wasn't working as it's so easy to use now. I'm now looking forward to not having to bleed it every 500 miles to get clean fluid.

ok thanks for the advice. The only slightly worring thing is that I don't have any new seals. I only have the slave cylinder.

Southern Cross serviced my bike a few weeks ago, changed the clutch fluid and tried to change the "jet" so i could get neutral a bit better. But they said the jet was in tight and didn't wan to damage it getting it out. So not really being that bothered about the neutural they left the orignal one in.

Do you think they would have used a new slave seal when they refitted the aprilia slave cylinder? Meaning that i might get away with reusing the seal when i put this new Slave Cylinder on? :confused

How about seeing if we can do a group buy and get these a little cheaper? :biggrin

Anyone got the front to approach them and see what kind of discount they can give us for a bulk order? :devious

before you fit that slave could you post the part number on the site. from the ebay pictures it appears to be stamped on the piston side. this will aid anyone trying to get one from tecmoto as they are a ducati dealer and may not be able to cross reference part numbers.:thumbup

I have a contact at the MPL factory if you want to try and do a group buy cheaper than RRP. He might say naff off but no harm trying.

They did some suspension links for me a while back.

Message just sent to Uli

I'll let you know when he replies.

Want any Smalt moto bits whilst i'm at it. His best mate is their Race engineer.

I'm in Spoonz

Did about an hour tonight round the lanes and me naffin hand is dropping off

Hope these are as good as people say they are as my clutch action at the moment is diabolical. Now if it was on the opposite side of the bar then it wouldn't be a problem :jack if you know what I mean!! :roll

PS. Spoonz, set my chain free play to 20mm and guess what, I now no longer have any issue selecting neutral and it doesn't bang in to first gear either. :biggrin

You wouldn't believe that 5mm flex would make that much difference

You've got me confused now Jacko. There is no seal between the slave cylinder as the fluid stays sealed within the cylinder. The only seals are for the fluid pipe. Do you mean these? If so, any bike shop will sell 'em as they're all the same size - I believe.

I was assuming that the cylinder had a seal that would seal against the bike. But after looking at the pics at http://www.rsvzone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66

I can see there is no seal !! ;-)
I was just thinking it through before i change them. Didn't want to get half way through and find out I need a seal!

Also I hope the old bolts fit as I don't have any new ones.
