Had a blast as you do on days like these and I managed 140 miles and the light only came on if pointing up or down hill . Of course I was riding the bike casually with a bit of a razz when needed , so I'm pretty much chuffed with the result . I think its actually beat my 929 erion I had , the bike is standard as well .

For the Mk 1 thats pretty good....the mk2 can do that quite easily....however on track etc they drink a tank in about 80-100 miles

Yeah was maybe planning a trip to Switzerland later this year on the mille and wondered how much it would cost in fuel . I would not bother if it was in the 90 to hundred mark , these figures crop up often.

Try 45 on track!

Something seriously wrong there.....no chance of ever finishing a 20+ lap race on longer circuits...i can get 4 10 lap sessions of my local track ( 1.5 miles ) after riding 20 miles to get there and still have the reserve to get home.

Aprilia's run rich by default...get the A/F ratio set up properly...you just need a good exhaust analyser and a rolling road...easy to do on the mk1 with the ecu and throttle body screws....mk 2 is a pain due to needing access to the proper Axione diagnostic system.

This is gen 2 with custom map 130 bhp back wheel, try slammin that round a track full belt
& see what you get, if you ride slow you'll always get good mileage

A world superbike Ducati with 225 hp gets over 75 miles from a tank at a pace none of us could ever do...no way is 45 miles to a tank correctly fueled....even the Tuono thunder bikes from a few years back got better mileage.

hey guys im curious to what others get out of there mille's to. i ride mine 'enthusiastically', but im no racer and im sensible where i need to be so im not red lining everywhere. ive only had mine a few months, its my first twin and 1000cc, im lucky if i get 95 miles before fuel light comes on. my bike has got a power commander but i had battery troubles in first few wks of owning so i think the map has been lost so ive just been using the 'high' rev range button as the low and mid make the bike very snatchy at town speeds. also what sort of range do you get once the fuel warning light has come on? all my previous bikes have had a manual reserve so i dont want to push my luck on this one and get stuck! cheers fellas.

I tend to fuel up around 100 miles, as it gives my bum a rest too!!! And on a steady outing it takes about £16 of v-power.

NO clue on the amount of "light-on" in the tank, I'm afraid - I've run out of fuel before on a different bike, so I'm careful about it now....

Reserve safely does 20 miles...power commanders on these are great for mid and high end power gains but my previous RSV had one and it was a pain to get it to suit town riding...each fillup for me is £20 @ £1.32 / L....so 15 litres.
Best solution to town speeds is a gearing change...i'm running 17/40 but have a 16/42 kit on the way and a spare 15T front just in case.

Try the 0 map on the power commander and then see if theres any difference in your tank range . I dont red line the bike much and usually give it some on a road I know really well to see what the bike can do .

Alright guys heres ma tupence, the usual blast on the ape gets me if im lucky 70miles to the light i stick to the speed limits in the towns and in the country:devious:eek:on track im lucky for 50miles tae the light im the same as shane wi my power commander and cans and i run 15/44 sprockets the only way to go mind:biggrin oh and officer i never wheely or back it in to corners or any shinnanigins like that honest:devious:thumbup

Oh ps forgot tae say that ducati thing has a bigger tankfor racing , the aprilia has a tiddler.......

cheers guys, ive never had a power commander before and the paperwork didnt come with the bike, only the dyno graph from the original setup of it. how do you set it to 0 map? i reckon my mileage is about right then, sounds like id be better off dropping a tooth on the front then for town riding. i only have the mille so its everyday riding, commute to work, rare trackdays now ive got my first baby due later this yr so its made me behave on the road a bit more to!

Just look on the dynojet site for all the maps for your year mille and the software to install the maps . Been a while since I had one but they are pretty easy to set up .

I get around 120 to 130 on my Ape before the light.
It's an Edwards Rep, with a custom map and custom air box.

That's riding sensible 80% of the time with some blasts in-between.

hey guys so ive looked at the pc III website and found the zero map, none of the other maps seem to match my bike. so what exactly is the zero map? ive got no experience of power commanders and dont wanna fiddle with it while im still totally clueless.

O is as it says , no alteration from the standard map in the ecu . It just saves having to take the pc111 off to see if there any difference in how the bike runs . In all honesty when I had mine on my 929 blade , I had a custom map which cost about 140 squid to do , it was on the dyno for about 5 hrs . You say you have cut the wire to the ecu to release the 2nd Map ?

ive not done anythin to the bike myself yet and i dont think its had any other mods. none of the maps on the ynojet site seemedto match my setup of just plain standard airbox, filter, slip on pipe.

Depends what you want from your bike mate , like you mines standard but I'm contemplating cutting the blue/green wire ( I think ) to release the second map . O map is for standard setup really besides the maps which are supplied wont really match any one bike thats why you really need a custom map for your own bike.
