Right a little story and lets see if we can do some kind of a deal. Here we have a 2003 mille in silver (bike was manufactured on 6th February 2003 according to the frame) but not sold until 2008. The bike went from the factory to America along with several others, in 2003 and didn't sell. It came to the uk in 2008 and was registered and sold on an 08 plate to a good friend of mine by KJM superbike centre for the sum of £5K. He used it as a sunday toy for two years but slid off it at slow speed on speed bumps outside his house. Due to him going through his first divorce this bike was hidden away at work so it did not get included in his assets for the divorce split. Earlier this year we were chatting in the pub and he told me he still had the bike at his place of work but needed to move it as he was in the process of moving with his new wife up to Scotland. I told him he could park it up in my garage while he got sorted. As I spend a lot of time in my garage playing (I am widowed so no one to tell me to get in the house) I spent a fair bit of time looking at this bike and ended up buying it from him as it was. I did the usual thing, came on the forum looking for advice, and fitted 150 amp starter solenoid and bigger battery. The bike started up and ran but we have an Aprillia specialist in York (Al Longhurst) so took it to him and found out that the bike had not been derestricted at all, air box alterations wiring alterations etc. This was all done and the bike checked over. I then had a pair of new avon storm tyres fitted to the bike and had it mot'd (old tyres had plenty of tread but not prepared to ride on what are basically 11 year old tyres) The bike has done a total of under 2,500 miles from new but I cannot ride it!! I am an old faht who spent too many years racing sidecars and now have a bad back. if some one wants a really genuine mille with a low mileage, every thing apart from what I will next tell you, is immaculate. When bought the bike needed a new seat unit, bought one off evil.bay but wrong colour (bike is silver, seat is black) top part of fairing in primer needs painting in silver to match the bike or bike could all be a blank canvas and painted to your colour choice. I have tried to get photos on here but not very good on a computer but if anyone is interested can send a link to photobucket and show photos that way. Why am I selling and what do I want, I am 60 years old and although I love the power and the handling I need some thing that isn't going to cripple me!! I want either £2600 for this bike or an exchange for a modern Triumph twin, I don't mind putting some more money your way, I just want to be able to jump on a bike and be able to ride 100 miles and get off it without my back playing up!! I could possibly be interested in something other than a triumph as long as the riding position is sensible so get in touch. I have all the paperwork and receipts for this bike and the original owner can verify all that I have written on here as he spend half the time in my garage on a night drinking my beer. Any questions just mail me and I will answer them, this is one very low mileage, very cheap and very fast bike.
