Mileage reset?

Hey guys,

My one buddy is interested in a 05 RSV, stock standard with 17500 km's according to the owner.

his story (owner) is that the bike stood for a while and when he fiited a new battery the clocks reset and milleage is now an indicated 1500kms.

can this happen?:dunno
 
Yes it has been on here befor some one had the same problem i have not had this but do a search on here
 
Yep it happened to me when I changed the battery over winter. My 04 bike now has a 150 miles on the clock. Awesome innit?
 
If the bike is a genuine 05 bike then it shouldn't happen.

The clocks issue was sorted by mid 2004 production wise.
 
I thought it was 06 they sorted it....my 04 is mid 04 and it still happened to mine .... twice
 
My bike was manufactured in April 04 (delivered in May) and had the new clocks on from the Factory. Batt has been off lots of times with no issues and i did ask the dealer to confirm it was the good type when i became aware of the problem.

I personally am not aware of any 05 manufactured bikes with reset issues over here but in the US they run 6 months behind us in terms of model years.

you may have bought a bike later that than but it may have been manufactured sometime before and sat in a dealer.
