May Day Bike rally in Hastings

normally ride in from locks bottom just up from orpington...the ride out officially starts at 10am..but get there at least an hour before,it gets packed

Hi redratbike - yeah locks bottom, was gonna be there about 9.30 but can try to be earlier. Are you there?

A little something to be aware of.
A21 bottom of SilverHill windy downhill road as you leave Hurst Green the roundabout at the bottom leading ogff to Robertsbridge has just been resurfaced a week ago with SMA and is like an ice rink in the damp. SMA usually take about 6 months before grip levels are up to scratch.

yep i'll be there/....normally park up by the bp garage...yellow y reg mille :devious:eatcorn

which one as there's 3 on the A21 lol. As for the SMA on that stretch of road it is a 40mph section nr Silverhill anyway.Camera vans too.

At the bottom of Silverhill with the Robertsbridge and Salehurst turn off it was slippy enough for my Shogun to drift at legal speeds today.
40mph or not best go into it with eyes open good enough to lean ok in the dry.

Looks like the weather will be fair, not great blazing Mediterranean sunshine, but fair British seaside weather.

Where abouts are you guys meeting up? I have a few friends to meet up with so hopefully co-ordinate meeting at the same spot.

Watch out for POLICE Surveillance and Camera vans all the way down the A21.:devious:devious
They will also be monitoring the double white lines and chevron areas.:thumbup

I wish everyone attending ALL A GOOD DAY :biggrin

couldnt go due to an injury....... gutted, but hope all who went had a super ride out

I'm just back and it was a great day, thousands of bikes attended this year.

Pretty poor show for stalls and bargains though, although J S Gedge did have a stall and was selling all makes of helmets and leathers off very cheap.

Sorry no piccies guys bloody camera batteries died on me just as I took the first shot of the day. LOL (Time for a new camera me thinks)

Oodles of cops on bikes in cars and camera vans, all watching every move you made. Unless you were riding like a loony then they tend to leave you alone.

If I'm honest I think this'll be my last year at Hastings, not much riding going on there more posing. Way too many posers with their polished trophy bikes and brand spanking £1000 new leathers that get worn once a year.

I did see quite a few Aprilia's, if you saw a blue 2002 RSV then that was me cause I never saw another bluey!

Here's a couple of vids, it looked bigger than ever.

It's a yearly pagan festival called Jack and the Green. Don't ask why!
Who's the silver RSV on the video?

as usual stop-start on the way down but a great run into Rye later then a mad blast up the a28 and home...was it me or was it even more busy then usual in Hastings?

It was fecking mayhem this year, way busier than any year I've been to before. :eatcorn

Couldn't get any scran anywhere all the restaurants were full and takeaways had queues 40 deep, ended up riding to Bexhill for an nice Italian lunch. Hmmm! :roll

More bikers but less stalls, work that one out. :eatcorn
