Spent hours yesterday looking at reviews for these, cant really find anything bad, a lot of opinions on here about them but are from a while ago.

Has anyone used these recently and got a proper review/opinion on them, not like 'their cheap and made in Taiwan therefore are rubbish' !

Im not the fastest rider but not the slowest, like to do a few track days a year too. Any proper input would be appreciated !! :thumbup

Used them once on a ZX6R at a damp but warm Mallory. Atrocious. Gave very little warning of slide, and slid at the earliest opportunity. Really did not inspire any confidence at all, even when the track dried.

Guess they'd be OKish for road riding, as they did seem to heat reasonably quickly, but frankly there are far superior tyres out there for not a lot more money. Wouldn't go anywhere near a track with them fitted.

And referring to your middle paragraph, if they were badged Cheng Shin rather than the hugely bigged up in advertising Maxxis would you not think twice? Cus that's who makes them.....

i like them ..although they have gone up in price recently and are more priced near the competition

not great in the damp/wet but other than that all good..i actually went for road3's this year at 210 fitted where as they wanted 190 fitted for the supersports.....

Bloke at work has had some on his steelie cbr for a year or so now and he rates them.
He was a Bridgestone only guy before his fitter suggested trying them!

I have run them for 2.5 seasons now including track days, used to run Dunlop SportSmarts before but am more than happy with them and will keep using them.
Some observations

They are not so good in damp greasey conditions and will move around a bit (think old Pirelli Diablo)
They are okay in full wet conditions but they are not an all weather tyre, they are biased towards dry warm conditions and the odd track day.
Run them at 36f and 38r
They have lasted about the same number of miles as the SportSmarts

I'm not easy on tyres/brakes being a very svelte 18 stone and tend to push the front end very hard (riding style)

Ive run Avon viper sport since owning the bike and cant fault them. Maxxis are a fair bit cheaper but dont think I'll bother chancing it, better the devil you know and all that.

I ran them on my RSV Mille and i now run them on my 06 CBR1000RR and theyre good.
I would compare them to Bridgestone 014's / 015's but harder wearing.
They arent good in wet/greasy conditions or cold though, as already stated.
They will square off rapidly with straight roads commuting.
I run 180 rear and would have been looking for a different brand if i couldnt trust them.
