Max speed for a RSV Mille

Everything works fine, it accelerates OK from low revs and the engine pushes hard...but when 260-265 km/h has been reached, it doesn't go beyond, and (as confirmed by all of you) more than 20 km/h are missing.

I'm quite sure that this is beacuse of the factory engine map or any other electronic limit... hope it can be switched it into B mode

First thing to do is go to a 15t front sprocket give that a try and you will probably find it will give you more top speed, the engine struggles on the standard gearing due to it being to tall, easy to do before you spend any money on garage bills. The type of day and humidity along with temperature will also affect the engine performance, i don't think there is anything wrong with your bike at all, give the sprocket a go:biggrin

tks Badger for the sprocket suggestion. I'll try it to see what happens. In any case, I'm gonna see whether there's any kind of limitation on the map engine too.

I've just picket the bike with swingarm replaced, 15 t front sprocket fitted and engine map changed (nearly a new bike)... I'll try this tomorrow on the road

im geared for low down grunt and pull, mine will do 162mph but that dont interest me, its the pull out of corners i crave rather than the top end licence loser :thumbup:thumbup

Obvioulsy max speed is to be checked on the track. Yesterday I tried the new map engine and front sprocket on the road. My impression is that I felt it with much more acceleration at all revs than before, the engine seemed to push harder... everything was perfect. With this and the new adjustable footrest and the light tint front screen wich are coming next week... she will be completely dressed to me :)

I have a totally stock 06 rsvr, stock gearing, stock air filter and box and even the crappy stock cans and got 181mph out of mine.

Still not having been able to check for the max speed but with the changes (map2, front sprocket) the bike seems a different one. Hope I'm been able to check how it runs on the track soon.

Thanks to everybody answering!
